The Attorney General of Texas has withdrawn his request for a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) against the federal government to block them from placing a group of Syrian refugees in Texas. The move comes after Attorney General Ken Paxton claimed the federal government provided as yet unspecified information about the refugees who are set to arrive in Texas.
Breitbart Texas reached out to Governor Abbottâs office for a reaction to the TRO withdrawal. A response was not immediately available.
UPDATE: The following was received from Katherine Wise, Deputy Press Secretary for Attorney General Ken Paxton:
As a result of our lawsuit, the Obama Administration informed us for the first time that these specific refugees pose â in their determination â the lowest-level security risk to Texans. While we continue to have concerns about the federal governmentâs screening process, we appear to have a seat at the table for the first time, but we will continue to press the Court to ensure we can voice those concerns.

They found some dirt on him to force him to back off.
They were threatened with cut-off from Fedzilla’s teat. Mark my words. Money talks....bullsh*t walks.
That’s what I think. The golden rule.
Time to stand up, Texans. Where are we meetin’?
What happened to Abbott. Was he threatened, did he give in willingly, or was he bought off, I wonder.
Did anyone really believe the Texas government would actually try to stop the refugees from coming to Texas?
Probably learned that the group was all aged widows and 3 year old orphans, that the optics would be bad.
I think it was a family of six kids, two parents and grandparents, and a woman that has family in Houston.
There’s going to be a shopping mall or a day care center that looks like “after” at the Boston Marathon - and our “leaders” at every level are supplying the ball-bearings.
Well, this comes as a shock. But just looking at Abbott one could tell he just didn’t stand a chance.
Some cash, somewhere changed hands, or some head was found in a bed. Very bad move and TEXANS should be up in arms,
Our only consolation is the fact we can carry arms which work just fine.
Hope its not Waco because the LEOs will lock you up and put a million dollar Bail on you.
Really disappointed. The Feds probably stacked the deck with Syrians who were old, very young or feeble to make the optics look as bad as possible for Texas, but, still, this sets the precedent for bringing in fighting age Muslims to serve Obama’s war against America.
[[.... these specific refugees pose âin their determinationâ the lowest-level security risk ...]]
Let’s see- Young men between the ages of 15-40, angry at the west, shouting that they WILL take over the countries they are being imported to- Demanding Sharia law- etc etc etc
Yep- no possible threat to America
[[If Greg Abbot is folding the others will as well.]]
Have we seen ANY governors stand up to this administration yet? All of them have folded- They make a big show out of ‘protesting’ ‘suing’ beating their chests- but in the end they fold like cheap suits
[[Probably learned that the group was all aged widows and 3 year old orphans]]
Hmmm, older women with nothing left to lose, and future terrorists- We’re supposed to feel safer about these age groups? Many older women become suicide bombers because well, they have nothing left to lose-
I’m worried sick that Nathan Deal who is a total RINO will fold. He says no but I’m concerned.
if Texas just folded- our ‘last best hope’ as it were- then I don’t expect Nathan will be the one holdout- I hope I’m wrong- but every time govs try to oppose dear leader- they fold- no matter how strong a conservative they are- for some reason. Even Jan Brewer folded In the end-
