It may taste ok, but it can’t be a true pecan pie because pecan pie is a southern dessert. So your wife tainted a traditional southern dessert with yankee syrup.
My wife is from Vermont and is as conservative, if not more so, as anyone on FR. My Mother is from Brownsville, TX and made the Karo pecan pie for 40+ years. I loved it. But this is better. My wife improved the recipe. “Yankee syrup” and all.
Pecan pie...mmmm...my fav. Yeah, I’ll take the traditional Southern pecan pie... a distant memory...haven’t had one in a long time. Where’s ur house?? lol
