Could this movie be made today? Mel Brooks doesn't think so..... Could the kids at our universities watch it without turning into quivering masses of protoplasam?

Song of the South.
Men at Work (1990)
I loved Benny Hill in small doses...
British humor is somewhat unique....John Cleese, Monty Python etc....
So true. He even joked about AIDS in that show. Just a few years later, the suffocating blanket of political correctness was already stifling that sort of humor.
Dave’s a killer!!!!
Dave’s a mess!
Never saw that one....I will to google that movie....
THEY SAID IT COULDN’T BE DONE
by
Benny Hill
They said that it could not be done,
He said, “Just let me try.”
They said, “Other men have tried and failed,”
He answered, “But not I.”
They said, “It is impossible,”
He said, “There’s no such word.”
He closed his mind, he closed his heart...
To everything he heard.
He said, “Within the heart of man,
There is a tiny seed.
It grows until it blossoms,
It’s called the will to succeed.
Its roots are strength, its stem is hope,
Its petals inspiration,
Its thorns protect its strong green leaves,
With grim determination.
“Its’ stamens are its skills
Which help to shape each plan,
For there’s nothing in the universe
Beyond the scope of man.”
They thought that it could not be done,
Some even said they knew it,
But he faced up to what could not be done...
AND HE COULDN’T BLOODY DO IT!!!
Bleed all over ‘em...let ‘em know you’re there.
Who could dislike a movie that features an Indian pimp? Strangely, Tom seems to downplay that film these days. ;-)
Dave Allen at Large was another of my mainstays.
"By the way, my name is Tim and I'm always available. I also do engine work on BMW's."
Best line ever delivered by Paul Newman:
“Scouts?”
I thoroughly agree.
True story: I was at my sins bachelorette (or however it’s spelled). And I made the mistake of texting a line to my best friend and his two grown sons. For twenty minutes I was getting texts with every great line. I mean like rain. The priests forgave me
Although the initial post was somewhat political and cultural in
nature.....this has been a fun and enlightening diversion from our normal serious demeanor.
Thank you all for posting.... I’m calling it a night! Carry on in my absense...
Not sure if mentioned, Idiocracy. And one of the all time greats I find folks haven’t seen. “The Mouse that Roared” Look it up, it is great!
Probably not since we have so many who have been taught to wear their feelings on their sleeves and political correctness gone wild but I sure am glad Mel made it in l974 when people could enjoy it. Thing about Mel was he was an equal opportunity offender......whites, blacks, Jews, Chinese, Mexicans, American Indians....the whole lot of us. Dave Chappell is halarious......he’s the black Mel Brooks. I’ve never been offended by his skits that make whites look dumber than a box of hair.....never offended by Brooks making those white cowboys look like total morons, or the racist whites look totally stupid. It was comedy!!!!
Idiocracy.
It hit the pop culture dumbing-down of America so hard they even yanked it from the theaters and it was a well done movie. Funny as Hell, too!
Tag line for years....
