Why the emphasis on Iowa caucus? Santorum won Iowa. Huckabee won Iowa. Where is president Santorum? Where is president Huckabee? If Cruz wants to follow Santorum & Huckabee, it is not very smart. There are 49 other states to win after Iowa.

Only because it is the first one to give us some real data, instead of polls made with phone calls. Historically, some candidates who do absolutely poorly in Iowa, tend to drop out. New Hampshire isn’t vital and candidates tend to NOT drop out after that state. The big fall out happens after South Carolina.

I wonder if the MSM pushes the idea that Iowa is somehow relevant. She’s been picking the weakest candidates for some time now, as you pointed out. Seems the trend now is that winning Iowa is the kiss of death.
