I thought it was just my computer, but a few others are reporting this too. Who else has experienced this?:
It appears that the software is not recognizing special characters such as the smart quote, smart apostrophe, and em (long dash), and other character map symbols - at least in many cases.
Yup. Paste into the text box, click preview, then go back to the text box to replace characters as necessary. Go back to preview to verify, then post.
is my signature still jacked up¿
Special characters.
Bless their hearts.
It’s a Communist plot explained on other threads.
Ok maybe not. But it is discussed on other threads that someone link here. Maybe they already have while I am typing this.
Not Bush’s fault.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
JimRob must have switched us to Windoze 10.
You bet. Seems quotation marks are the worst offenders to come out as garbage characters. Hard on the eyes.
Your signature is fine. It’s your name that got all screwed up! Unless you’re going with a riddler thing? “?udda?udd”.
Oh yes.
Being technology challenged, I thought it was something I had done. Makes reading a bit interesting, like a puzzle.
Do you mean like: ÃÃÃÅ ÃÃ Ã
yes
Except my browser didn’t do them right
Yep the slanted quote - apostrophe are giving the ones causing trouble.
Replace them with the verticle ones and all is well.
This has been going on for a few days now with a few diferent threads.
Vertical ‘ “ ! works okay.
In post 11 I used some of these but they don’t display correctly.

Many articles and comments are unreadable. In many cases, this is an improvement.
I’m noticing the special characters. I proof my stuff and strip them out.
It’s generally a “’” sign. The one that prints at about a 45 degree angle is problematic. Erase and put in a straight one like “’”.
I can’t duplicate the other. There are some other signs too. Any of these “!@#$%^&I(” copied, will probably have to be replaced before posting.
It only takes a few moments to strip and replace.
I find that I can bulk replace by using notepad as a text editor.
“Your signature is fine. Itâs your name that got all screwed up! Unless youâre going with a riddler thing? â?udda?uddâ.”
On my screen there is a square box in front of the “udda” and “udd”. Apparently it different on different systems.
