A shame. But really he probably should have given them to a museum way before the fire. Still horrible for an 80 year old. I am sure he is shaken up by it.
BUMP! BUMP!
I still love them!
I’m really sorry to read this. I can’t imagine the pain of loosing your home of 56 years. Glad that nobody was injured.
I saw him a few Christmases ago. What a voice.
“Too much, too little, too late...”
I would have cut back the vegetation, whether it’s legal or not.
Some years back, somewhere in California, homeowners received letters from the state of California and from a federal agency.
One letter said NOT to cut the brush near their home because of the endangered kangaroo rat. The other letter said it was OK to cut the brush. Only one homeowner cut back the brush. The others did not.
Eventually, there was a brush fire, and every home was destroyed except one...the guy who cut back the brush.
I was upset when I heard the news about the home of Johnny Mathis.
One of the things I have hung on to through countless moves and many years are all my old 78’s from high school and college of all of his music. Obviously I share your love of his music. Wish there were some so-called artists of today that could sing like he did.
I would comment but It’s not for me to say.
Well done!
Chances are he is really pissed.
I thought Lisa Left Eye Lopes was dead.
Yes, and this event is Unforgettable.
And he’s becoming very misty about it too.
Chances are, he’ll rebound. But it’s still sad.
When we lived in Northern CA,local firefighters told us they always try to save the house whose owners made the effort to cut back brush. We always did this.
You don’t even her about his homosexuality. Class Act.
Except now that you bring it up. The man just lost his home of almost 60 years and a lifetime of keepsakes from a fire. Was that even necessary to mention?
