I want to like Rubio but he needs to firmly state no amnesty not just that he regrets ever pursuing it. Other than that I haven’t got anything against him. I don’t care about his votes, Cruz has missed a lot too. I think it will (and already is showing signs of) come down to Trump v Cruz v Rubio v Carson and Carson will drop first and then it will be unpredictable but I think Trump’s gonna pull it off and name Rubio as his VP. A Trump/Cruz ticket would be awesome but I don’t see that happening. Trump or Cruz at the top of the ticket is the best case for a real Conservative Presidency in 2016.
Rubio gave a speech in Spanish to an Amnesty advocacy group and said that he was still for amnesty.
October 24, 2010 while campaigning for the Senate: âEarned path to citizenship is basically code for amnesty. It's what they call it. And the reality of it is this. This has to do with the bottom line that America cannot be the only country in the world that does not enforce its immigration laws. It is unfair to the people that have legally entered this country to create an alternative pathway for individuals who entered illegally and knowingly did so. And all I'm saying is that if you do that...you will never have a legal immigration system that works. No one is going to follow the law if there is an easier way to do it.â
June 27, 2013 as an elected Senator: "Those who once had no hope will give their kids the chance at a life they always wanted for themselves. Here in America, generations of unfulfilled dreams will finally come to pass. And that is why I support this reform (Amnesty)--not just because I believe in immigrants but because I believe in America even more."
