The Texans have released quarterback Ryan Mallett after he missed the team’s flight to Miami last weekend, the team announced Tuesday.

Brian T. Smith of the Houston Chronicle reported Monday that head coach Bill O’Brien wanted to release Mallett before Sunday’s game against the Dolphins but was overruled by general manager Rick Smith. Releasing Mallett before the game would have left starter Brian Hoyer as Houston’s only quarterback.

>>They cannot get their ass kicked any worse than they did the other night.<<

Put Tebow in and you will find you are wrong.

As a Broncos fan, and supporter of Manning, I can honestly say that I believe Denver management really screwed up. They should have kept Tebow, worked on his motion, and let him understudy Manning. That way when Manning decides to retire, they would have a strong QB to go into the role. Besides, Tebow sells tickets and a Manning/Tebow team would have created extra revenue.

Now we are facing the situation of a new coach that likes to run a more balanced game, seems to prefer an option quarterback (more Tebow’s strengths) and Manning who is off of his game.

sigh

Oh well, no one seems to listen to me anyway.

I’ve never seen a blackballed get signed by 3 teams. Tebow washed out because he isn’t good. All he does is throw in the dirt. 5 coaches at 4 teams have figured this out, at some point the cult is going to have to face reality.

If I am not mistaken but Tebow's college record was very similar to Peyton Manning's.

He also led the Broncos to the playoffs that one year he played for them.

Being a newbie NFL quarterback going toe to toe with the Patriots and loses the game in the playoff.

I can only imagine what Tebow would do with a few NFL years under his belt.

This would be the 6-0 Manning?

Great QBs don’t always hit every shot — instead they WIN.

There are many who can pass a good ball. The elites win when the chips are down.

Today’s Brady isn’t the Brady of old, just as Manning isn’t the Manning of old (remember Favre? In his waning years he used cunning to win more than his arm).

behind an “average” front line and he would literally be broken apart. The front line at Denver protected him better than any quarterback in a long time.

And even behind that line, Tebow put up a passer rating of 72.9 that year. Which would be good for 30th in the NFL right now.

The simple fact is, there is no NFL conspiracy against Tebow. The NFL is a pure meritocracy. If you can play, then you will be on the field, whoever you are or whatever you do off the field.

That would be averaging 1.6 INTs a game Manning. That would be 72.5 QBR Manning. That would be 254 yards a game Manning. That would be “my defense has scored 3 TDs” Manning. Peyton is done. He simply doesn’t have it anymore. It’s sad, but as they say, Father Time is undefeated.

Actually Brady is on pace to break the single season passing record... again.

They oughta be trying out Bo Levi Mitchell from the Calgary Stampeders.

He’s had a few NFL years under his belt. What he’s done is be cut from the team. He’s just not all that.

Well, so? Tony Romo, who is statistically one of the greats of the 21st century won’t get close to a Super Bowl. It happens. The Texans looked ready just a couple of years ago, then Schaub went into the toilet, their RB got hurt, they traded their best WR. All they have is Watt, a CB, and Brian Cushing.

There was no strong part of those Broncos before Tebow united his Denver teammates. Yes, the defense was the first part of the team to show improvement.
