Pregnant woman does Whip/Nae Nae in hospital to induce labor
NY Daily News ^ | October 5, 2015 | JENNIFER GOLDING

A pregnant woman in East Point, Georgia, got her dance on to rapper Silentó's (Whip/Nae/Nae) video while in the hospital about to give birth.

Wearing her hospital gown and yellow socks, she made labor seem fun as she danced to the popular song.

Her video went viral after Ob/Gyn and Midwife Associates posted it on YouTube.

A nurse advised the first-time mom to do squats to induce labor.

However, squats were not on the agenda for the mom-to-be.

"I went looking for my patient to see how she was doing with her squatting," said a nurse. "This is what I found in between contractions. Get that baby down mommy!," she said while watching the dance.

A healthy nine pound six ounce baby girl arrived shortly after.

So I’m guessing she isn’t gonna get a hospital bill, then.

Proudly I admit I have no idea what a whip nae is and I don’t care. I assume it is somewhat akin to twerking.

I gave birth to our 5 kids, yelling and screaming for whatever drugs they would give me—LOL!

(And the kids all turned out just fine).

Sounds like something Dick Morris might pay extra for.

I didnt know what it was either, so I watched the video. It is nothing like twerking.

Watch the video. It’s actually a decent dance.

She dances very well, especially for being about to deliver.

Maybe there’s a TV show in her future!

having a good time? Joan Rivers said child birth is like pulling your lower lip over the top of your head. Lol.

I’m a man so I have no idea. God bless all the moms out there that have given birth. :)

“nae nae” = euphemism for female genitalia
“whip” = eupehmism for male genitalia
“Whip Nae Nae” - a song and video made by a young black man that is currently popular with white women who don’t know that they are singing about their snatches.

You’re welcome.

Not even close. It’s like line dancing.

When I was in labor with my two, I’d have done almost anything to get those babies to move! lol!

This is a good one.

No, the “nae nae” refers to the character “Sha nae nae” from the tv show “Martin”. The dance imitates how she acted on the show.

Basil... you and I must have been given different drugs. “About to give birth” for me didn’t involve dancing or smiling.. just screaming and bending the metal bars on the hospital bed. :)

Uhm, Lenny Bruce was talking about the “nae nae” way back in his dirty comedy routines of the early 60s. What do you think they mean when they say to “get that nae nae down”? ROTFL.

I carried my very big boys all up front. If I squatted...I have had my belly on the floor and my face planted likewise.

So I used to take the steps at work instead of using elevators and I kept up the routine after I was pregnant with my first son. Well, the weight all up front grew with each week and it threw me forward and down the stairs. I went as fast as my legs could take me and I could not stop. A man was coming around the corner on a landing and I screamed “Stop me.” He took a football stance and grabbed me at the landing. Thank God. When it was over and I was crying at the thought at what could have happened had he not been there, he was laughing so hard he could barely stand up. I took elevators after that.

That was a cute video. Bless the new mom & baby. I would’ve done just about anything to speed up labor! 24 hours of labor, no drugs, until they told me I needed a c-section. All worth it, she turns 10 next week. :)

“Uhm, Lenny Bruce was talking about the “nae nae” way back in his dirty comedy routines of the early 60s.”

That may be, but that’s not where the name of the dance comes from:

“...a new dance that’s spreading across the country: the Nae Nae. Developed by teen quintet We Are Toonz, the dance is loosely based on Martin Lawrence’s Sheneneh Jenkins character from his 90’s sitcom “Martin.” Group member CalLamar explains, “It’s really just based on a ratchet girl in the club dancing kind of funny and the best girl to describe it is Sheneneh from ‘Martin.’””
