A contestant on the popular game show “Jeopardy” was asked Friday to name a flower pictured that shares a disparaging name with “people on the political left.”
Her answer proved to be incorrect, but some will argue that it was the most hilarious answer ever on a show that first aired on March 30, 1964.

I never knew that 'Bleeding Heart' was the name of an actual flower.Most flowers have an official Latin name, and then a popular name — like the way rudbeckia are called "black-eyed Susans" or "coneflowers." The Latin name of "bleeding hearts" is lamprocapnos.

The lady was kind of youngish.
BUT ... Even though he is Canadian, it surprises me that Trebeck didn’t know or maybe think that pansy is just another word ‘we’ used for the limp wristed crowd back in the day.
I was more ‘shocked’ that Trebeck expounded on the answer.
