What if U.S. citizens could drive...to Asia? A new proposal from Russia would see the country connected to the U.S. by highway bridge as part of a massive superhighway crossing the length of Russia, ultimately linking New York and London.
Called the Trans-Eurasian Belt Development (TEPR). the ambitious project was proposed by Russian Railways head Vladimir Yakunin earlier this month, according to CNN.
The route would include some pre-existing roads to reach London and New York, but would still require thousands of miles of tarmac across the width of Russia. This would be laid alongside the existing Trans-Siberian Railwaythe longest railway in the world.

From the people who brought you the Kuala Lumpur to Cape Town Expressway. Don't miss the roundabout in Algeria, or you'll wind up in Mauritania. Oh, and hang a sharp left when you run out of Spain.

You'll seriously want to keep that current. The guys on the right in the full service lane have been in line since Crimea was annexed.

New York to London in the family wagon. Just 215 hours — figure 3 weeks each way.

Interesting to contemplate.

Never say never, but really, what’s the point of this project? Anyone who wants to go from New York to London and have a car there just needs to fly and rent, also you then have a car that is designed to be driven on the left.
One thing you would not want to try is driving in England with a right-hand drive car. That would be suicide, it’s tough enough with those narrow roads and the roundabouts if you have a British car.
However, the main stumbling block would be that Siberia is almost entirely devoid of towns and services from the Bering Strait to wherever this road would meet up with the Trans-Siberian railway corridor, which would be a long, long way. And this is the coldest part of the northern hemisphere in winter. There are places that routinely get down to 60 or 70 degrees below zero along that route.
A road might get some industrial transport use but as a tourist route, I can’t see that working.

My first thought too. Mexicans are bad enough, but muslim scum hordes would be a nightmarePerhaps not.
Lots and lots of space in the Siberian wilderness to "get lost..."
Might actually be a good thing.
