Looks like a pretty rich menu. Of course 12 course dinners were not unusual for those in the top tier of Edwardian/Gilded Age society.

Actually “Mutton” is pretty nasty and smells worse cooking than it tastes.
I was going to say, “You want fries with that?” but “Fries” are on the potato list. Well color me surprised.

They dined right after their morning church service, because April 14th was a Sunday. They had one final day to hear the Gospel message and then the ship hit the berg at twenty minutes to midnight.

Slightly off topic, but in Procol Harum’s “A Salty Dog,” why did they have to “replace the cook”? How does a new cook improve the situation when things are falling apart?

Actually it looks more like a crap food selection, sure you get mashed potatoes, but corned beef? Thats like a Princess cruise offering grilled spam. Those foods are preserved foods, loaded with salt, probably because of minimal refrigeration back then.
