LONDON -- One of London's fastest-changing neighborhoods is echoing to the snap, crackle and pop of conflict.
An East End cafe that serves 120 varieties of breakfast cereal

What happens when your life goes against the grain
Brits have always been a little odd.
“Get on Welfare like us”
i recently ate a box of coca puffs mistakenly believing they were coco krispies. subsequently, i bought coco krispies for the evening snack
for those that might like it, vanilla or any ice cream for that matter, garnished with coco krispies is a great snack
as a matter of fact i would recommend it for breakfast. ice cream is much better than milk with several cereals
Why on earth would anyone eat breakfast cereal at a restaurant?
It’s like setting your money on fire.
Between the sad old 60s relics singing their Red Flag song and giving it the Marxist fist salute and the university students (and faculty) attacking a place serving...breakfast cereal, lefties are determined to go to some unknown land beyond parody.
For now, however, they’re stuck squarely in Parody-land. They have neither the courage nor the leadership to attack real targets, especially when they’re clutching their phones and tablets as tightly as the next man.
I wonder if these people want everyone to poor like they are....or if they think they are poor because the rich are taking away their share.
“...or if they think they are poor because the rich are taking away their share.”
This is what they have been taught. They accept it because it relieves them of any responsibility for their circumstance.
In the 80s, East Enders were rioting over immigration, now they’re rioting over gentrification.
I think they just like any excuse to riot :)
It hardly looks upscale - it looks like an old pub and the interior reminds me of NYC’s British grocery store “Myers of Keswick.”
When Brits demonstrate they go all Wat Tyler. I saw an anti-fur demonstration in Regent Street five years ago that seemed to be straight out of Clockwork Orange. Scary as hell - especially when one very sick young woman poured a bucket of blood on her head - straight out of Carrie! I’ve never seen anything like that in NYC.
Its like setting your money on fire.
That is exactly the point.
For the low, low price of $4.50, you can sit in a room with a bunch of other people who are willing to fritter away $4.50 for something that costs 40 cents in the grocery store next door.
If you are young, hip, with a little extra money in your pocket, this is a cheap way to hang out with people who are young, hip, with a little extra money in their pockets, and sort out all of the people who are old, unfashionable, or poor.
Punch "Brick Lane Beating" into Google.
Having progressed from the former to the latter, I sympathize with them and understand the impulse.
30 kinds of milk?
He likes it! Hey, Mikey! :)

Those are three of the CUTEST little boys I have ever seen! Love their ‘Joisey’ accents, too!
I guess some people would rather live in a slum.
I figured it was because they couldn't get a side of kippers and baked beans to go with their Rice Krispies.
