Slings I’m not getting that on my Google searches using two different browsers.

It’s not doing it for me. In my case it is McAfee on a Chrome browser that is deciding on the danger posed by a website. Free Republic is all green.

How do you know that it is Google posting the warning? What browser are you using?

I did some web admin work for a commercial site for a while. If the site is perceived as having become infected with malware, then you get that. After I left I was still getting calls every now and again, we had the new admin sweep the site and appeal the status with Google. It took an afternoon to clear up. (Yes, there was some crapware that had gotten into the site).

For me it says google search freerepublic.com “thailand” clicked the link, it sent me to that page. When I did freerepublic.com and clicked link, sent me to link.

I get DNS errors reaching FR sometimes. Been happening for a month.

Just tried with Firefox, no warnings of any kind.

I’m using Firefox with Adblock Plus and Ghostery. The warning text is linked to https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/45449?hl=en&rd=1 The search I linked in the source causes it to happen, at least on my computer.

Jerks yes, but Free Dominion was shut down by Canadian courts. Destroying Free Republic would be a wet dream come true for the Huff Posters and DU folks.

This may not have anything to do with anybody "reporting" the site . . . but it might have to do with some of the images or links people place into their posts---some of those images or links may tie to harmful sites without the posters knowing it but Google's various spiders might have picked up on those and they come through as meaning FR itself may be harmful because those links or images are there.

I've seen it happen with a couple of other forums, political and non-political alike. Nothing you can do other than be very careful about the sources of links or images you might like to post.
