Health warning for all Freepers using the Baking Soda / Dakin's Solution Oral Hygiene Protocol
Vanity from Swordmaker | September 26, 2014 | Swordmaker

IMPORTANT! HEALTH WARNING!

FOR ALL FREEPERS WHO HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING THE BAKING SODA AND CLOROX-DAKIN'S SOLUTION PROTOCOL FOR ORAL HYGIENE AND TOOTH BRUSHING!!!

The CLOROX Company has changed its basic Clorox formula to make it "concentrated" but has ALSO added LAUNDRY chemicals!

I just went to the Clorox™ website because I noticed the "concentrated" label on that bottle you linked to and it worried me. . . I wanted to check what the concentration of Sodium Hypochlorite was in their "concentrated" product. . . and to my horror I learned that Clorox has CHANGED their entire product line. . . and their cap coding too!!!!

Clorox has just CHANGED all the formulas for CLOROX!!!!! They have tossed out the good old stand-by that has been a century old and replaced it with JUNK New formula with adulterations!!! They are also using the SAME COLOR CAP ON EVERY VARIETY!!!!!! They've thrown the baby out with the bathwater. I would NOT, REPEAT NOT!!! use any CLOROX product for hygienic use on the human body until further notice!!!!!

All of their Clorox Bleach Products now are being sold with the same color blue cap, instead of their old color coded cap system, where the dark blue cap indicated an unadulterated pure Sodium Hypochlorite Bleach product. Now they ALL have the dark blue cap! But that doesn't matter because ALL products have adulterations.

They do not make it easy to lean what the concentration is, but WORSE ALL of the Clorox products are now ADULTERATED with laundry additives.

Even the Product Safety Sheets do not list the concentrations of the ingredients. . . nor is the old original pure Clorox even listed any more. Apparently such data is now a corporate secret.

There seems to be no pure bleach Clorox anymore. I cannot find the old product at all on their website! At this point I do not know what substitutes there are for the discontinues product. . . but do NOT feel safe by using any Clorox product in your mouth!

For example their Regular Clorox now includes: "Sodium polyacrylate is used in laundry detergents to prevent soils from depositing on fabrics during the laundry cycle."

Another with the another blue cap bleach bottle which just says "Clorox" but at the bottom lists "High Efficiency" also adds an additional ingredient of "Sodium Xylene Sulfanate"!

I have sent an email to our doctors appraising them of the situation because this has been an important product for protocols for tooth and health care in our implant Dentistry practice.

WHAT IN HELL ARE THEY THINKING!!!!

Something to brush your teeth with or rinse your maouth?

Rinse and gargle to kill bacteria once or twice a week left over from brushing teeth with baking soda. . .

Ok, have it your way. I am familiar with both. As far as Ebola is concerned, IV Vitamin C will cure it. One of the things Vitamin C does when it gets into cells is to release Hydrogen Peroxide.

Ozonated water, H2O2, IV Vitamin C all have similar effect on bacterial, viral and cancerous cells.

They have tried IV vitamin C because a quack suggested it and it did not work. . . sorry, I don't know where you are hearing this, but it just is not true. It has been roundly debunked! It has NOTHING to do with Hydrogen Peroxide!

High Dose vitamin C can cure Ebola virus disease — Not so fast!

Thanks, Swordmaker, for your reply and for keeping us updated on this issue. Maybe we will just have to fall back on the Daker’s solution!

Ebola initiates a severe form of scurvy. Multiple high doses of IV Vitamin C will cure Ebola. Ebola is one of several hemorrhagic fevers. Give or take 150 to 200 grams of IV sodium ascorbate several times a day may be in order. This info does not come from quacks.

Thanks for the information - up to the point where in the last few sentences you chided me quite rudely.

Now. YOU pay attention. I am 69 years old. I’ve managed to muddle through fairly well all these years without being lectured by some smart aleck young upstart.

In fact, I’ve survived with just plain old soap & water for most of my life. . spirochetes and all. In fact, I’ve named mine . . there’s Susie Spirochete, Fred Spirochete, Bob Spirochete, Connie Spirochete and all their baby Spirochetes, plus jillions of unnamed Spirochetes. I call them all Anonymous. - If I attacked them with Clorox, they would gang up on me and give me leaping pallegra.

I DO get sore throats a lot. Is there anything for those?

Now. YOU pay attention. I am 69 years old. I’ve managed to muddle through fairly well all these years without being lectured by some smart aleck young upstart.

Twinkie, I am 67 years old and I know what I am talking about. . . I and I am now semi-retired from managing a dental office for one of the top Dental Implantologists in the world who is intimately connected to the professionals WHO are working with the RESEARCHERS who know a lot more than I do, and those doctors in my office have EDUCATED ME on this subject. I have written articles on this subject for my office and for publication.

I am NOT some "smart-aleck young upstart" and I am telling you the STATE OF THE SCIENCE not some anecdotes you pull out of your personal experience based on nothing but old wives tales.

Hydrogen Peroxide will NOT kill the bacteria that causes these plaque related diseases. This is science FACT, tested by years of study, not, oh, "I've gotten along fine doing 'X' for years and I OK." . . . because you don't know you are OK.

I am sorry if I have offended you but you are spouting unscientific twaddle that is not scientific fact and in fact has been long FALSIFIED. . . what you are claiming is not at all true . . . and challenging me in a field on which I am educated and know the facts and you are arguing with me, claiming you know better, when you do not, and that your old wives tales trump science, when they cannot. Sorry, but you needed a wake up call. There are about 10% to 15% of the population who simply do not have spirochetes in their mouths. . . and you may be one of those lucky people. I am one, my mother was one. WE would LOVE to know what makes those people immune from having spirchetes in their mouths, and what makes spirochetes, that are endemic in the mouths of 85%-90% of the world's population either avoid people like my mother and me or die as soon as they get in our mouths.

If you will READ the original posting you will see that these damn oral spirochetes are implicated in heart disease, Alzheimer's disease, adult onset diabetes, peripheral artery disease, and almost every other plaque related disease in the human body.

I am trying to show you how people can hopefully PREVENT ever getting those diseases and YOU ARE ARGUING WITH ME, claiming that something, Hydrogen Peroxide, which has not ever worked in the past for this purpose, is just as good????

Fine, Twinkie. You let your grandchildren use hydrogen peroxide. I won't.

As to your question about your sore throat, if you follow the baking soda/bleach protocols regularly you will not have as many sore throats as the bacteria that can cause them are not likely to survive in your oral cavity.

YES, it does. Please show even ONE cure of ebola or any of the several hemorrhagic fevers cured by IV vitamin C, or IV Hydrogen peroxide. You cannot nor can you show any scientific papers on this subject. The only one claiming this is a QUACK.

This is obviously your source material.

Dr. Gifford-Jones: Are West Africans needlessly dying from the Ebola virus?

"I find it deplorable that, in my travels, I have yet to find one North American doctor who knows that poliomyelitis has been cured with intravenous vitamin C. Yet the knowledge has been there for decades for medical schools to teach. — Dr. Gifford-Jones

Except polio has not been cured. . . there is zero evidence of Dr. Gifford-Jones' specious claim. None, Zip. Nada. No one ever found these any of these "cured" polio patients.

The article also cites Dr. Robert F Cathcart, as an expert in viral diseases, but he was not. Dr. Cathcart was an Orthopedic surgeon. Oops.

So much for your primary source.

Have you bothered to calculate how much 240 GRAMS of ascorbate that Kenner and Cathcart (who could not have participated in calculating the amount to cure Ebola because he DIED in 2007) IS??? It's more than half a pound of ascorbic acid that you are proposing loading the blood system down with every day. . . RIGHT. Sure.

Ebola initiates a severe form of scurvy.

Incidentally, I don't think you know much about the course of Scurvy if you think Ebola is in any way related to Scurvy. It isn't.

GOOD NEWS!

Clorox posted another Clorox product last night called Clorox™ Germicidal which my main doctor just got back to me on. It is basically the same as the original product with safe buffering chemicals added to allow it to last longer in the bottle. He's reviewed them and finds them OK in the percentages they are in the mix. This is the ONLY one that is OK to use. . . none of the others should be used. As you notice it has the same damn blue cap as all the rest!

It is still concentrated, so the amount of Sodium Hypochlorite in it is 8.25% not 7%. Use 24 capfuls of water to one capful of Clorox Germicidal.

Finding it may be a bit more difficult. . . Costco carries a 3-pack for about $8.42, but your local grocery or hardware may not have it. Do NOT use any of the others, only the Clorox™ Germicidal version.

I still would not want ‘fragrance ingredients’ in my drinking water.

Dude, I didn’t say it was better, just that there is a movement to head that way. The OSHA soft deadline has passed and very few companies have complied.

OK, I use hydrogen peroxide out of the bottle three times a week.

Helps to whiten the teeth too.

Thanks Swordmaker. - It’s just as well I won’t have to buy that expensive food grade hydrogen peroxide concentrate and burn holes in my body where I accidentally splosh it when I’m mixing the stuff. - Now, if I can only find that Clorox germicidal bleach stuff. - I’ve had some of those physical problems you mention; I don’t know if it’s from spirochetes or not, but guess it might be. - Anyway, I’m just as happy to not have to mix up that stuff any more.

Thank you for the ping, and thank you for raising this issue. I wish I had seen the 2011 thread, but somehow I missed it.

Interesting that there is a heart disease connection, my brother is facing open heart surgery (valve job) in the near future, and they told him it wasn’t going to happen unless all his teeth came out. They stripped his gears, so to speak (Larry Stooge reference).

They didn’t tell him exactly why, but I assumed it was something like this.

As an aside, about the only other product I know that has five different kinds of sodium is Chex Mix Traditional, aka “High Blood Pressure In A Bag”. 19,200mg of sodium all told. Eight 1/2 cup servings. Who eats only one half cup of Chex Mix?

Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda)
Trisodium Phosphate
Disodium Inosinate

My wife has an older Clorox jug in the bathroom. The uses for section on the label does not include the water purification instructions. now I know why. The jug is several months old.
