My '72 Les Paul Custom (I play badly but love this guitar). I got it for $350 in 1976.

I can try, but release date still up in air. There is an ongoing discussion at http://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?forums/digital-modeling-gear.53/ they are up to around 437 pages. Best video I’ve seen is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuZurmlRlUM&index=13&list=FL8XYr6O89C6uI5cdxBeT00Q . I have more videos bookmarked if you want more. Thanks for the thread!

I like the Boss pretty well but it’s not a pedal. I’ve had it for years, still works perfect, plugs into 110VAC, and has a jack for a footswitch.

That’s the unit, mine is a bit more scratched up but identical. I Put it on the floor in front of the amp, and the amp goes on a PVC tilt back stand I made for the Champ a while back. Since the Pro Jr is about the same size as the Champ it works perfect. Tilts it back so it’s pointed at my ears, not at my knees. Makes a big difference with any small amp.

Here's the stand I made, out of standard PVC plumbing pipe. Works perfect, standing 8 feet in front of it the amp points at my ears, where it needs to be, not at my knees. They can't hear too well. That's why Fender put tilt legs on many of their combo amps. I highly recommend a tilt stand of some kind for anyone using a combo amp after using this one for a while. Even the high powered amps like the Twin Reverb, if it's aimed at your knees, you'll turn it louder than needed just to hear it. It will hold an amp that weighs twice what the Champ does, no problem there.

Purists would call it one. But it’s hard to beat the bark of a plexi with the low end grunt of the recto. Bite and grunt all in one amp.

Late 60’s Gibson J45-ADJ, Epiphone Les Paul, and an Ibanez GA6CE. I use a Dean Markley Promag Grand soundhole pickup with the Gibson. I play them all through a Marshall AS-50D Acoustic Soloist amp. My one pedal is a Digitech Trio band creator that generates a Bass guitar and drums for me to play along with.

I play in a senior citizen band. We play mostly 20’s, 30’s, 40’, and 50’s music. Our oldest band members are both 97.

That is cool...quite simple but i would have never thought to use PVC...You could also add some padding to it...insulation roll.

I guess padding would be OK but I’ve seen no reason for it. The tolex s strong enough to handle being carted around in the back of a pickup and in a trailer for years, sitting on PVC won’t even be noticed. Tubular water pipe insulation wouldn’t be expensive, and would work fine, easily available too.

Not hard to make, and I wouldn’t worry about setting an amp twice the weight of the Champ or Pro Jr on it at all. If I wanted one for a bigger amp I’d use 3/4” or 1” PVC and use an added strut in the middle for support. If you decide to make one, fit everything together before gluing, be careful taking measurements, and sit each section on a flat surface to assemble to keep everything straight and square. Assemble in sections then put them together.

I left the front legs with no glue so I can remove them later and replace with longer or shorter legs if I need to. So far these have been perfect, standing 8 feet in front of the amp it’s pointed right at my ears where it needs to be, not at my knees. They don’t have ears. Also works great onstage, I can hear myself lots better and don’t have to use a chair to sit the amp on, and it weighs nothing, a few ounces. Fender Amp Field Guide says the Champ weighs 20lbs, same for Pro Jr.

It could also be painted black, I didn’t bother. I did use clear PVC cleaner to remove all the black print markings. I use it at home, in the practice room and onstage, my Pro Jr is sitting on it right now.

Original pickups?

The back one is original. The front is a DiMarzio Super Distortion from 1977. I have the other original in the case.
