Survivor: Cambodia Second Chance is the 31st season of Survivor (for those unfamiliar with the show, there are two seasons each year). It begins Wednesday, September 23, 2015 on CBS at 8/7c.
I'm sorry for the late ping. I've been waiting - in vain - for CBS to finish updating the Survivor page. According to my DVR setting, the season premier is going to be a 90 minute episode.
The producers selected 32 previous cast members - 16 women and 16 men. The selection criteria were that (1) they have played before only once, and (2) have never won. From this list, fans voted for their 10 favorite women and 10 favorite men. The finalists were announced on the Survivor finale on Wedneday, May 20, 2015.
Survivor exclusive: Immunity idols to be hidden at challenges this season
The players range in age from 22 to 55. Seven are from California, with four from Southern California. Two each are from New York and North Carolina. One each are from Arizona, Connecticut, Illinois, Oregon, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Missouri, Texas, and Washington (state).
Bayon Tribe (magenta buffs): Andrew, Ciera, Jeremy, Joe, Kass, Keith, Kimmi, Monica, Stephen, Tasha
Takeo Tribe (green buffs): Abi-Maria, Jeff, Kelley, Kelly, Peih-Gee, Shirin, Spencer, Terry, Vytas, Woo
Cast bios - unfortunately, this has not yet been updated for the new season. :(

a highlight of the night, “Joeâs balls start to move.”
Well, Savage, that’s what happens when you don’t split the vote.
Yeah that was a surprise. I’m headed over to see if the Ponderosa footage is up. I’m sure he was thrilled to have Kas greet him.
Woo Hoo! Savage and his ego is G O N E! Mike Tyson TKO’d him and the Island Gods have spoken. Once he got to the Ponderosa, he was snarky with Kass. Whaaa, big baby. Seems he lightened up later but that doesn’t forgive his rudeness earlier and arrogance throughout his time in the game.
Thank you, Ciera! I didn’t like her first time around especially when she booted her mom but she’s the only one playing the game this time so kudos to her. Kelly played her II. Abi’s “at least you made the jury” comment was the highlight of the season. The lowest moment of the season was Savage flipping her off. Low and no class.
Hey, Second Chancers, two times out and 31 seasons yet you still haven’t learned to split the vote. Seriously? Isn’t that like Rule #3 right after learn to swim and make fire?
Well, that TC shook some things up. Or not. The he-men may have lost one of their own but they also now know Ciera and Kelly don’t have any idols to save them next TC. They have even larger targets on their backs now... unless people start playing the game... but they won’t because as Tasha said they’d pick off the folks at the bottom.
Voted out last night: Andrew (Savage)
Reward challenge winners: Ciera, Joe, Keith, Kelley (Wentworth), Kelly (Wiglesworth), Kimmi
Immunity challenge winner: Joe
Orkun Tribe (merged tribe - orange buffs): Abi-Maria, Ciera, Jeremy, Joe, Keith, Kelley (Wentworth), Kelly (Wiglesworth), Kimmi, Spencer, Stephen, Tasha
Jury: Andrew (Savage), Kass
Eliminated: Jeff, Monica, Peih-Gee, Shirin, Terry, Vytas, Woo
Immunity Idol status: Kelley (Wentworth) played her idol at tribal council. Jeremy has an idol.

As of Survivor: Nicaragua, this is a new Survivor ping list. The old list is no longer available, so I would appreciate it if any of you could ping interested parties to this thread. Thank you. :)
If you want to be added to or removed from this ping list, please let me know.
Last night was one of the best tribals in Survivor history.
What arrogance of the power group no not consider an idol in play and not split the votes.
Oops. Flushed an idol, but cost them Savage in the process.
We laughed at Probst for that one, too.
Smart money would say this changes little - the same alliance just does the same vote next tribal, the only change will be who's name the three girls write down (assuming Joe wins immunity.)
Which really begs the question - are these people really out to hand someone else a million dollars? Ciera at least understands that concept (finally) now that she's on the bottom.
If you want to be added to or removed from this ping list, please let me know.

The preview must have went over my head as I didn’t get the Witches Coven thing.
Neither did I.
no idea what preview for next week means. Really meant to get people to watch on Thanksgiving Eve.
Looks like the three witches on the bottom have Fishman in their camp.
Fish, you have no game and will be thrown away the minute you’re not needed.
Fish thinks he’s this great strategist. And all this hype about the evolution of the game. Hogwash. It’s just that this is the first season that every player is a second timer who never won. They’ve thrown some second timers and ex winners in before but now it’s everybody. And most of them know and have played with someone before. So the strategy will be huge. Entertaining - yes. But next season when it’s a bunch of newbies it will seem all the more boring. The game is not evolving at all.
I’ve always wondered why a strong alliance of, say, 5, didn’t play it down to eight and then the bottom two flip and take out their power player - then flip back.
They always wait just about two votes too late.

Another entertaining episode last night (Or maybe not if you’re a Kelly W fan.) Interestingly, the root behind having everyone vote for one person which was defeated by an hidden immunity idol was to prevent a couple flips saving the target was abandoned for a split vote strategy which resulted in a couple flips saving the target.
As for strategy - the ‘voting blocks’ strategy, that of going into each tribal with a voting block to get through that tribal, and everything resetting after. It has been a strategy floated before, but dismissed by the superior results of the tight alliance - superior except for the bottom two of that five alliance who stay loyal just long enough to make disloyalty no longer a factor.
For a strong player, the tight alliance is their phalanx to reach the final tribal councils. The voting block strategy is more a pack hunting strategy - come together on a common target, then break off to continue on.
In this case, assuming Joe wins immunity again, the next logical target for the block strategy should be the three girls - they’re acting as an alliance not a block and should be broken up to continue the strategy.
I would feel for Joe, but he doesn’t seem to be all that interested in finding hidden immunity idols for himself; which makes every immunity challenge being one for a million dollars. Fail one, and he’s gone.
I’m less than impressed with the two part immunity idol hunts. I like the concept, I just don’t think they’ve executed it right. And honestly, I’d love to see them expand the concept a bit; not just hide clues to hidden immunity idols, but hide clues to hidden rewards - a hidden dinner? Do you take the reward and make others think you got a hidden immunity idol? Even more fun, you get to bring someone else.
Then again, a hidden toilet with toilet paper could be an incredible reward that could last an entire game. :)
An observation, it does seem like medical is much more active this season than in past seasons; I’ve been seeing constant bandaids and other treatments on survivors for injuries unrelated to a particular challenge. I don’t know if this was a condition that some of the second chancers made, but it does make me happy seeing them better cared for.
All in all, to me, this has been one of the most successful seasons in quite a while. Very typically by this point I’m rarely watching the day of broadcast and typically skipping the pings lest I get spoiled for results that I’ve not watched yet. Now I’m watching live.
Keep in mind we're only shown what the show wants to show us. Joe may have searched hard for that idol and just not found the clue. I agree that if he doesn't win immunity he'll be voted out. I like Joe, so I hope he keeps winning for as long as he can. I also like Jeremy and am glad he's made a nice little safety net for himself. If Joe can't win this game I'll be happy if Jeremy can.
I'm surprised that Abi has been so quiet for so many weeks. Has the bad weather washed the spitfire out of her? I believe that Stephen will soon find out that his move last night will not be looked kindly on by the rest of the tribe.
I'm pretty sure if Joe recruited his alliance to help find a hidden immunity idol, that would have been shown. And honestly, if any refused, it would have helped Joe know exactly where he is on the totem pole.
I don't know, maybe he is looking forward to the trip to the Ponderosa, as it will take a team effort to get him the million dollars.
