I think parents who do that do it because of their own personal tastes. Some people hate milk so much that they think they are being cruel to give it to the child. They’re wrong. But what can you do?
As for the rest of your daughter-in-law’s diet program, I have to wonder if she herself is overweight. Is she?
Depends on the water some of it is really nasty tasting.
Actually water is bad for babies and can kill them, which is why they drink breast milk or formula. I can’t remember at which age water becomes okay. But water is bad for infants.
Recipe to relief constipation. A can of peaches, prune juice and hawaiian punch (which I was told has pineapple juice in it)blend these together and drink or sip for a while, and ka-pow, it works.
I think it was recommended 1/3 prune juice to 2/3 hawaiian punch plus the can of peaches. I used to make a blender full for my one child who needed it on regular basis. It was recommended by a friend whose pediatrician gave her the recipe for her kids.

Same here with our kids. In fact, they all had avavados with dinner tonight. Oh the fat calories, lol! I’m currently using Gerson therapy for a cancer diagnosis and eating more calories than Big Gov’s USDA says I should and I’m losing weight. The weight loss isn’t from the cancer, since Praise God the tumor died and we haven’t found any mets yet, so it’s got to be quality vs. quantity. High quality, low carb whole foods. Pray for me, please! I had my second CT scan yesterday and we are praying for no cancer! God bless!

3500 calories to a pound is not a myth. it’s a mostly accurate scientific rule of thumb.
weight loss and weight gain is all about calories. nutrition is about the content of the food. they are not the same thing. obesity is a calorie issue. whether you drink juice or eat gummy bears or subsist on a diet of celery and radishes... all that matters for weight loss is that your daily “calories in” is less than your “calories out” on average over a period of time. this is a fundamental law of physics. the Law of Conservation of Energy and it’s corollary, the Law of Conservation of Mass.

True. I shoot baskets and go to a practice field to play ball with my teenager. I’m sore a lot, but it feels good and burns off the calories. It also gives me interactive time that I will always treasure.
A modified Paleo non calorie counting approach to eating:
Restrict/eliminate carbs, refined sugars in any form.
Then, eliminate any processed foods and any corn oil/soy oil products and any form of fructose.
Throw away any product labeled diet or food substitute, and never buy them again.
Don’t buy any food product with more than a few ingredients and with multi syllable chemical products.
Eat real ocean fish not farmed fish fed chicken food, like farmed salmon, shrimp and Tilapia.
Eat grass fed beef, lamb, pork and chicken not fed antibiotics.
Find local farmers, who plant and raise veggies/fruits and feed their chickens the plant stuff they don’t sell to produce great eggs. Buy their eggs and eat 5-6 per week.
For dessert one or two ounces of good chocolate. Again read the ingredients and avoid multiple products, any fructose and phony sugar. You will be getting your sugar from the fruits and veggies, you are eating.
Eliminate hard liquor, beer, sweet wines and enjoy a good glass of red wine with/after dinner. Forget the alcohol lunch drink.
Use EVO from most cooking/roasting food in your oven for home made salad tossings.
For high temp woking/grilling/convection ovens use Avocado oil.
Learn how to find, prepare and eat the colored fruits and veggies, several servings a day, raw, grilled or roasted in your oven cooked on a sheet of parchment paper in a cookie pan/ sheet.
Snack on walnuts , carrots, cherry tomatoes and any veggie/fruit with colors. Figs in season taste great and satisfy many cravings.
Get back to walking 5-6 days a week, a mile or two each day.
Drink your coffee and green sun tea with zero sweeteners and no cream type products, some these products have a laundry list of poly syllable additives.
Without counting, you should be able to lose 10 to 25#’s in the first two to three months. After about 2 months, your cravings for carbs should vanish and your sugar/sweet cravings will fade away.
After few months, you can stay on this modified Paleo/no carbs/real food lifestyle of eating, and merge the Mind Diet and Dash Diet** (google Mind Diet* and Dash Diet to see why these concepts are important.)
*In the past year we have lost 3 friends to Alzheimer’s. If a simple dietary change can significantly reduce our chances of getting this horrible disease. We went on the MIND program.

The main content of most fruits is water, fiber and fructose—pure sugar. “No sugar added” is a meaningless label. Fruit is already full of sugar.
Ah... I hope you have taken some sort of FDA approved treatment or surgery for that. The Gerson therapy alone is highly unlikely to eradicate a cancer.
This was modern medicine's chance to show me what they can do. They failed. I know as much today as I did June 22. My second CT was yesterday morning and the new gyn onc wants exploratory surgery.
Depends upon the calories....protein calories require MORE energy to burn....sugar calories require LESS energy...but, you can believe whatever you want.
