Hewlett-Packard Co.'s board, amid mounting displeasure with the Silicon Valley computer giant's performance, ousted Chief Executive Carly Fiorina after she resisted the directors' plan for her to cede some day-to-day authority to the heads of H-P's key business units.
The move culminated weeks of escalating pressure from the board on Ms. Fiorina, one of the most powerful women in business. She bet her career that a bitterly contested $19 billion merger with Compaq Computer Corp. would give H-P enough scale to thrive in the brutally competitive market for computer hardware.
But with H-P's stock down more than 50% since the start of Ms. Fiorina's tenure as CEO, H-P's board decided on the management-reorganization plan at a mid-January meeting. The decision came after three directors presented a four-page analysis laying out the board's concerns about the company's performance after 5½ years with Ms. Fiorina as CEO.

Carly was channeling Enron when she was illegally booking revenue at Lucent. She should have gone to jail.

The basic test for conservatives selecting a candidate should be does that candidate support the right to life, liberty and property. If they can not pass that simple test then move on.

I try to follow Reagan’s rule when it comes to FReepers, plus i’m too new :)
BUT, the argument that everyone else did it doesn’t work for 10 year olds, no less CEOs.
Like i’ve said a NUMBER of times, I’m from NYC, and have lost count of those who started with a bundle and ended up with nothing a year or two later. People think it is so easy to turn bog money into more money. IT is JUST as easy to turn it into nothing. He didn’t just invest. He built buildings, made himself an indispensable brand name, got a clothes line going, and on and on and on.
Wasn’t Ted Cruz in charge of something like 4000 people? Didn’t he argue some very important cases in front of the supreme court?
And dont I WISH that every kids out there whose parents are conservative was one too.
Positioned in the seat of moral authority by the financial media, she could have positioned Lucent, already respected as a tech driver, as a whistleblower. The fallout would have been a tough row to hoe, but the end game leaves you intact and your competition (and their political enablers) completely neutered. Instead she decided to play the game and spin the wheel.
I been getting the same vibes. I’ll take a C. Firoina over any Clinton, Democrat, or RINO 7 days a week.
