A powerful earthquake has hit central Chile, causing buildings to sway in the capital Santiago.
The 7.9-magnitude tremor centred off the coast, about 153 miles (246km) north-west of the capital. Chilean officials said it measured 7.2.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center warned that "widespread hazardous tsunami waves are possible".
There were no immediate reports of damage, Chile's emergency office was quoted as saying by Reuters.

3 separate quakes in same location; 2 in the 6 range, and one in the 8.3.
Looks like the 8.3 came first .. and was followed by the two smaller ones.
USGS has a worldwide map where you can see all the quakes all over the world. Fascinating.

Pacific Tsunami Center says arrival at Hawaii is around 3am.
Unless they’re doing evacuations, dinner shouldn’t be a problem.
