EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Tim Tebow saved his best for last in his competition for the Philadelphia Eagles' No. 3 quarterback job.
Tebow ran an effective two-minute drill against the New York Jets, driving the Eagles 85 yards for a touchdown in 1 minute, 26 seconds. It was one of two touchdowns Tebow threw in the 24-18 loss. Tebow completed 11 of 17 passes for 189 yards.
Early in the drive, Tebow's ability to avoid sacks came into play. He avoided pressure to complete a pass to running back Raheem Mostert. Tebow then shook loose from nose tackle T.J. Barnes and ran for 17 yards.
Tebow completed two passes for 51 yards. The first was a short toss to Mostert that went for 28 yards. The second was a 23-yard bull's-eye to wide receiver Quron Pratt that took the Eagles to the Jets' 12-yard line.
On first down from the 12, Tebow was under pressure and threw the ball away out of bounds. On second down, he was sacked by Deion Barnes for a 6-yard loss. With 30 seconds left on the clock, the Eagles called for a timeout.
On third-and-16, Tebow dropped back and fired to his left. Rookie wide receiver Rasheed Bailey turned and, as cornerback Dexter McDougle closed in, caught the pass for an 18-yard touchdown.
It was Tebow's first touchdown pass of the preseason. He has one rushing touchdown as well.

well done Tim. great two minute drill.
Switched back and forth between the Pats game and Eagles game, mostly to watch Tebow in the 2nd and 4th quarters. He showed good awareness, looked off safeties, stayed in the pocket unless he had to run, kept his eyes downfield, made good decisions.
His throws were much better than when he was with the Broncos and Patriots. He had nice spin on the ball, quicker release and showed some touch on swing passes, something he lacked in the past.
I think he earned a spot on the Eagles roster and given another year would pass Sanchez.
Tebow is a great athlete, with a heart as big as an ocean. He will only get better.
He did well.
and he’ll keep preaching to Bellichick to quit cheating. Win win.
“I think he earned a spot on the Eagles roster and given another year would pass Sanchez.”
His swing passes were a little high but not uncatchable and they could NOT be intercepted.
Except for one he threw out of bounds as he was going down, the others were crisp and on target. Even the one that was intercepted was on target.
Can’t say if anyone was open on that play but it was 4th and long so he had to unload to someone. The interception was actually better than an incompletion.
bump
Redeemed himself - the series before the TD the Eagles had the ball on the Jets’ four after an interception but had to settle for 3 points after they went nowhere in three plays - at that point Tebow looked as though he was headed for the practice squad at best......
All he has ever done- win.
He is perfect for Chip’s system. He will only get better in this offense.
GO DUCKS!!
> It was one of two touchdowns Tebow threw in the 24-18 loss. Tebow completed 11 of 17 passes for 189 yards... and [during his playing time] ran for 17 yards.
“and hell keep preaching to Bellichick to quit cheating. Win win.”
Your ognorance is showing.
I think despite what people think, Tebow has the QB “smarts” to pick up Chip Kelly’s offensive system. As such, he would play very well under him, especially in the red zone.
