They make it up on volume. :-D
Before you post to FR for free, you have to ask yourself, how do they make back the money invested in development and sustainment?
They sell apps.
For your reading enjoyment...
Microsoft backports data slurp to Windows 7 and 8 via patches (Win 10 spyware comes to 7, 8.1)

EXACTLY. Nothing is for free. Especially when its being peddled by a communist that supports Commie Core who’s a friend and donor to Obama
...YOU are the product!
Do you feel lucky?
Well?
Do you? -- PUNK!
Nothing is for free and there is always a catch. The catch is you will not have any privacy in W10.
My grandson (age 6 at the time) and I were watching “How It’s Made” and they were showing how pork bellies are sliced and packaged into retail bacon.
My grandson says “Grandpa, how do they get the bacon off the pigs”......
LMAO!!
Where is the bacon, you ask? You are the bacon!
Linux/Linux (Win/Win).
MS is trying to increase their position in the mobil computer OS market, their main competitor being Android.

Back in the day, we had programs. I upgraded to Win 10 and all my programs are now apps.
I agree with Paladin. It’s time folks took a good, long look at Linux.
I heard about Zorin OS ( http://zorinos.com/ ) just today. It’s designed to be newcomer-friendly and can mimic Windows screen layouts. It is based on Ubuntu, the largest of the Linux distributions.
I’m a long-time Linux Mint user.
They’re moving to the Apple model, where they get be a cut from apps sells, so its in their interest that more people move to windows 10 so they have access to the windows store
Also, its not exactly free, its only free to those who have PURCHASED windows 7 and 8 but it will cost for everyone else
I don’t respond to their nagware.
They have tried to install Win 10 without my permission. My anti-virus prevented it.
