Savage, et al. should air their disagreements but do it without the trashing. Levin usually dismisses his competitors as "back benchers" who listen to his show to steal his stuff.
Savage of course is a special target of Levin's. I think it all started with Savage's national show and his attacks on other conservative and national hosts. Levin responded for Limbaugh and Hannity primarily. Then Savage added Levin to his list.
I've listened to radio since the 1940s and there's been very little like those two trashing competitors -- I can't remember for sure but I think Godfrey probably did it and I heard it at a local level.
I often think that I am missing the humor.. it's just Savage and Levin pretending...
Rush says outlandish things for humor but I do not recall him attacking competitors.
Great show today.
He brushes them off with humor, which is the basis of his 'talent on loan from God' and 'America's talk radio host' schtick. They all do voiceover 'branding' when they play audio clips, to prevent the others from using them.
Limbaugh has interviewed Glenn Beck, used to have Hannity as a sub, and calls Levin 'the Great One', so there's no ill-will amongst them.
I think it's primarily Savage being a crybaby. Which is odd, because he's as game-on as any of them, and right more often than not.
Doc S. just called the Pope a communist. Ya gotta wonder with the pronouncements he has been making lately. Socialist fer sure.
