Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden has named Kirk Cousins the teams starting quarterback for the 2015 NFL season. Cousins will replace former first-round draft pick Robert Griffin III as the Washington Redskins starter.

Is the headline completely accurate? Griffin was injured and they aren’t sure when he will be back.
Cleveland media reports Griff may be on the trading block. The Browns are where qbs go to die.
yes, Gruden said that Cousins was playing better.
It’s a concussion, given the protocols that are in place now return from a concussion is basically random. Eventually he’ll think he’s symptom free and they’ll put him through some test and he’ll pass or he won’t. Might clear protocols tomorrow, might never clear them. Of course Cousins stinks too, just stinks differently. It’s going to be 4 or 5 years before the Skins can recover from how they mortgaged the future to get RGIII.

If I were any NFL player personnel director besides Indianapolis, I would take RG III and put him on my team for grooming. He is potentially the best player to come along since Steve Young with his current skill set. His problem is coaching, and the wrong situation. The Redskins simply suck and blow simultaneously, sorry Washington fans. It comes from the owner on down, and IDK which ownership is worse, SF or DC’s.
He’s going to be a long term project though. Wouldn’t trade a lot for him, but he could be worth a 3rd rounder.
I am no fan of johnny Manziel, but two say someone is a bust after two games during his rookie year seems crazy. Anyone remember John Elway's rookie year?
He will be picked up off of waivers. NOBODY will trade for a $16 Million dollar contract that is not starting. On the other hand, if he is cut they can negotiate price. Washington is trying to get him healthy enough to cut and save money, or sucker in a trading partner. The owner is acting like he loves the guy to help with the sales pitch. He is a better, taller, faster version of Russell Wilson.
It’s really all about the team. Teams that are smart build smart expectations for their inbound QBs and get the chance to teach them. They also don’t give away draft picks to get the high profile guy, and put a lot of work into researching their pick’s character and study habits. Dumb teams use 4 draft picks to get the sexy dude, do have enough depth to give him a chance to learn, or to give him targets to throw to, or an offensive line to keep him upright, ignore any bad news in college, then have the audacity to be shocked the guy stinks. And unfortunately for these guys their careers usually are over, by the time the rookie contract is done they don’t know any more about the position than they did in college, have had a bunch of injuries, and a shattered self confidence. Often times somebody picks them up on waivers, but the damage has been done.
Snyder has loved him from the start. Which is part of his problem. When the coach is saying “you need to do this better” and the owner is saying “don’t change a thing and come over after practice” you tend to listen to the owner. He maybe had the potential to be a better version of Wilson, but right now he stinks, and he’s injury prone, which is costing him practice time, which makes it hard for him to not stink.
Another Spartan makes good.
I agree. If a player gets on the wrong team, it can permanently damage his career. Dan McGwire comes to mind.
He is rather spindly. D-linemen toss him around like a rag doll.
Wonder if the Cowboys would take him as a backup? Because as of now, they’d better pray Romo doesn’t get hurt.
