You’re the idiot, dear. You live in fear ... and therefore you live only by half.

Boy, I'd be pissed off! How much does a new board cost anyway?

I live by half? You might want to reconsider your statement.

Just because I am not a stupid person splashing around on the surface does not mean I live in fear.

I am a former Paratrooper with a passion for SCUBA diving.

Surfing is a fool's endeavor, since it is as myopic as it is pointlessly dangerous.

Not the usual serrated bite. Musta had some orthodontics.

I stand corrected! A paratrooper and diver -- I am humbled and impressed.

-- but how high and mighty!

As for "myopic and pointlessly dangerous," I wonder what are things like night diving, cave diving? Or doing a rent-a-jump run out of Perris and instead of "pop!" you end up going splat?

As populations triple and quadruple along the coast in protected seal and sea lion populations (see them sinking those boats and docks?), the more fish they're going to eat, and the more big predators they'll draw to the coast beaches shared by a large population of people who have as much a right to be there as any of them.

Harrumph!! ;^)
