FULL TITLE: Man proposes to his boyfriend in Texas Methodist Church that prohibits gay marriage - and gets a standing ovation from the congregation
A Texas man gave his boyfriend a proposal to remember when he got down on one knee in front of the entire congregation at their local Methodist Church receiving a standing ovation in the process.
Trevor Harper, 36, and Davis Covin, 30, who live in Austin, have been dating since 2006 and have been proud and active members of the First United Methodist Church of Austin for the past two years.
Mr Harper said the support they have received has been a huge blessing to their relationship, especially as a gay couple in Texas. 'That church has been, for us, really the first time we have really been able to live out loud as a couple,' he told BuzzFeed News.

As the late, great Bob Grant used to say: It’s sick out there, and getting sicker.
Spewing chunks!
Gee how special.
Homosexual marriage is causing splits in churches and denominations. Some will be liberal like this church, and others will break away and hold to traditional teachings and doctrines.
Gonna take rain check on that one.
What’s next...cute little gold stars for girls who get abortions?
Hear that loud noise?
That’s John Wesley spinning in his grave.
Eeeww!!!
Time to find a new church. This one is leading people to the wide gate.
Everyone that cheered the homos should be made to watch a video of two males getting it on in the various forms and fashions it’s done.
Then ask them if they still condone such mentally ill behavior.
No, thank you.
“Many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh; such is the deceitful one and the antichrist. Look to yourselves that you do not lose what we worked for but may receive a full recompense. Anyone who is so “progressive” as not to remain in the teaching of the Christ does not have God; whoever remains in the teaching has the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him in your house or even greet him; for whoever greets him shares in his evil works.” - 2 John 1:7-11
I’m a United Methodist, but John Wesley wasn’t, and he wouldn’t claim us....sadly.
Blah blah blah.
Translation: "We can now finally shove our lifestyle down your throats and you can't do squat about it."
bump
That will be a requirement for graduation soon enough
I try to avoid Austin whenever possible.
