Giant Galaxy Ring Shouldn't Exist
by Jake Hebert, Ph.D. *
A team of astronomers from Hungary and the United States, led by Professor Lajos Balázs of Konkoly Observatory in Budapest, has announced the discovery of an enormous ring of galaxies. According to the Big Bang model, this ring should not exist.1,2,3
The galaxies were identified from gamma-ray bursts (GRBs)extremely intense, narrow beams of high-energy electromagnetic radiation which are thought to result from the collapse of high-mass stars. The astronomers estimated that the gamma-ray bursts originated in nine galaxies located approximately seven billion light-years from Earth. These galaxies are thought to be part of a ring of galaxies so large that it spans a very large portion of the skyan area 70 times greater than the apparent diameter of the full moon. Despite this fact, the astronomers argue that the nine galaxies are almost certainly part of the same giant structure.
If they are correct, then this would imply the existence of a gargantuan ring of galaxies, although Balázs claims that the ring could also be the result of a spherical structure.3 Either way, the apparent structure is enormousan estimated five billion light-years across.
The possible existence of this giant ring of galaxies is of great interest because it would violate one of the fundamental tenets of the Big Bang model, namely the assumption that matter and energy, on cosmic distance scales, are distributed uniformly in space. But such a uniform, or homogeneous, distribution of matter implies that giant structures, such as this ring of galaxies, should not exist.

Indeed - At this point any quasi-scientific claim by the ICR is immediately suspect. Their proposed models are based on a single, disputable interpretation of one word of ancient Hebrew and have universally been falsified by what is observed in nature.
Furthermore, my observation has been that they are universally ungracious, snarky, and even mean to anyone, including fellow believers, who might differ with their views.
The human imagination can also do anything it wants.
As far as I can tell there is only one problem with the missing link. It's missing...
Would you please dispense with the logic already! We all know the science is settled and has nothing to do with science! Next thing you know just because there was snow in Calgary you’re going to tell us that Global Warming isn’t true either. We don’t need any stink’in facts to cloud our feelings about what should and should not be true. Even our president has stated as much and that should settle it forever.
Liberals are strangers to truth, logic and reason..........................
lol ... another theory whose main prediction is that you wont find any evidence to support it.
Why not, unless He explicitly tells us otherwise, like in Genesis 1 and Exodus 20:11. How about creation in 6 days by his Word?
A “day” is a long time. I once asked God for a million dollars. He said “Just a minute.” That was 30 years ago. :-)
Well.....
They were there seven billion light-years ago.
But where are they now?
I have no idea, therefore, God!
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
You are welcome to believe anything you want, but you are in error as to your assertions, as is evidenced by a plain reading of Genesis 1. God told the Israelites specifically to keep the 7th day as a Sabbath, as recorded here:
Exodus 20:11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day:
In other words, why do you ignore the plain reading of the scripture, and promote day-age theories? If God is God, Omnipotent and Omniscient, why did He bother taking 6 whole days, much less Billions? The clock He used and referenced us to was in days, which ONLY make sense regarding the revolution of the Earth, with evening and mornings. You do realize he created time on the first day? Before Genesis 1, there was no time! Time only exists to measure change, and since God is changeless...
Agreed, 24 hours. The sequence below is repeated 6 times, so as to avoid any confusion.
Genesis 1:5 And the evening and the morning were the first day.
Then you said, “I have no idea, therefore aliens!”.
Or chance.
Or ‘science’.
But certainly not a God who created eternity in our hearts. ...
/sarcasm off
Why do you have eternity inside of your heart?
Have you ever thought about that?
Why not, unless He explicitly tells us otherwise, like in Genesis 1 and Exodus 20:11.
...
How do you know that’s a precise communication from God?
It might have been a long morning. I wasn’t there.
That said, I’m grateful for all God’s gifts, however He bestowed them.
I’ll buy into the Big Bang Theory when someone gives a credible reason Why there was a Big Bang. Otherwise, faith in God is all that is required.
Oh they know about all that.
It's based on the same principle as global warming, global cooling and the population explosion.
It is just too hard for any of us to grasp, which is why they look smug and roll their eyes when we ask.
But they know aaaallll about it.
lol
Step 1: Find something science can't explain.
Step 2: Hand-waving arguments!
Step 3: The universe must be only 6000 years old!
Sigh. Who are you convincing? Those unable to think for themselves?
