The US is in a historic hurricane drought, according to NOAAs Climate Prediction Center. The fading of Hurricane Danny, which peaked as a Category 3 storm over the Atlantic, came as no surprise Saturday.
ATLANTA Hurricane Danny, a small hurricane that at one point reached Category 3 status as it moved across from Africa toward the Leeward Islands, has weakened quickly and by Sunday should be reduced to tropical storm status. An unusually strong atmospheric wind shear can be seen on satellite images Saturday literally whisking the storm away.
To be sure, Danny remains a dangerous development. Slated to hit the Virgin Islands early in the week, the storm could still cause wind-and-rain damage to island interests. But its days as a hurricane are likely over as El-Nino-fueled shearing winds discombobulate its core, weakening it in the process.

Hold it.....no...no...no...no...no....NO!
You guys told us after Hurricane Katrina that there were going to be MORE.....FIERCE....NUMEROUS HURRICANES......CAUSED BY MAN-MADE GLOBAL WARMING!!!
REMEMBER?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm?
Simple answer: strong El Nino. Earth’s weather is cyclical.
Because there are more wild fires. Therefore, less hurricanes. (Sara)
well, tampa surely doesn’t any more rain ...
How can this be?
I just saw somewhere that July 2015 was the hottest July in the history of the universe.
I’ve been stocking up on bottled water and toilet paper.
Joe Bastardi at Weatherbell talks about Danny in his Saturday summary.

Just another thing the “experts” got totally wrong. They were also positive that there would be no oil or gas energy by now, and we would have to depend on solar and wind. Wrong again and it’s cost the taxpayers billions as these cretins took out money and blew it on bird-killing windmills and bird-frying solar farms. They ought to be jailed for the disasters they’ve caused by their ignorant propaganda.
I'm pretty sure these things work in cycles.
There going fast but look into flame-retardant bio-suits, one size fits all.
We may be seeing a long-term change in weather patterns here in the eastern U.S. where the summers are too cool and the Gulf Stream isn’t strong enough to sustain hurricanes very far north.
That was the old model.
Once the model is adjusted to predict what has already happened, it will prove that capitalism must be destroyed if we are to survive.
Yes, if you put your official thermometers on asphalt roof tops in Texas, the temperature is 120 all through July and August. However, July was not that hot in Texas, while August has been a beast.
Back in the olden days, when country people were listened to instead of idiots with diplomas on their walls, the old timers would say that if the summer was hotter, the following winter would be colder than normal. We should have a humdinger of a winter this year, if this was the hottest July ever.
Because the mean, evil Republicans won't fund them.
No Major Hurricane Has Made Landfall In the U.S. In More Than 9 Years — and That’s a New Record

Why Was Wilma the Last Major Storm to Hit U.S.?
Meteorologist Ari Sarsalari talks about why we haven’t had a major hurricane in more than a decade in the U.S.
The U.S. is in new record territory, as the nation passes the nine and a half year mark without the landfall of a major hurricane. But what researchers believe is behind the so-called hurricane drought might surprise you.
A hurricane is considered a “major hurricane” when it reaches at least Category 3 status, with maximum sustained winds of 111 mph or greater on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. Hurricane Wilma was the last major hurricane to make landfall in the U.S., when it came ashore on October 24, 2005 near Cape Romano in southwestern Florida as a Category 3 storm; Wilma actually peaked as a Category 5 as it spun in the Caribbean Sea.
This is now the longest streak since hurricane records began in 1851. The previous record was a little over nine years, set from August 11, 1860 to September 8, 1869.
Its to make Algore look like El Nincompoop
The hurricanes are trapped deep in the oceans along with all the AGW evidence.
You know that and I know that, but these climate "scientists" keep playing this shell game on unwary people, (yeah, the low-info voter).
If there 10 year ago predictions don't come true, they blame it on a new phenomenon and then throw out there another doom and gloom prediction that never occurs.
You'd think the LIV would eventually catch on to their con game.
