Please tell me if you think Netflix's basic service is worthwhile. If you have it, do you regret it or recommend it? I know they have plenty of movies, but do they stream any current TV shows after they air on cable (say next day, or something like that)?
Oh Gosh! There is Longmire, and Foyles War, Mad Men, and House of Cards, and Revenge, and a sleeper called LIFE. There are some terrific old movies like Wayne’s In Harm’s Way.
There are quirky films, fun films and all sorts of others.
Most of Netflix’s film library is in DVD and in about six months I am going join that too, because I love oldies and quirky films. Enjoy the banquet!
Hulu for tv. Netflix for movies. Amazon a little of both.
Yes - but if you watch it a lot, you will run out of “good stuff” after about six months and find yourself constantly and impatiently checking for new releases.
Its good for a while. After about a year there was nothing left that interested us. Amazon was good for another year. Its all better than cable and the associated cost.
Found it, thanks!
Yes, its has a solid library of old and new shows and movies. Well worth $8.99 per month.
Yes it’s worth it.
Dexter book?
I binge watched the first three seasons.
I hope the Mom took the kid to the library!!
I discovered the way to incline the “recommendations” more closely toward my preferences was to start rating all the movies I watched. If I rated nothing but westerns, that’s what they recommended. For example.
TERRIBLE and USELESS web site. Can’t determine what their plans and pricing are.

Yeah, I wanted to see more of what they actually offer before I bought into it.
Netflix wants you to click “Start My Free Trial”, thinking if that provides you the information you are already in the mindset to start. Idiots.
I’m still on the fence about getting it, and even though so many people here like it, I’m leaning toward not getting it.
I’m in a free trial month now, timed to end just before the fall tv shows start premiering. Just finished seasons 2 & 3 of House of Cards. I watched season 1 via Redbox & finally gave up on them ever getting any more seasons. Planning to watch Turn & a few movies before the month is up, then I’ll cancel before I get charged.
Netflix supports the Gay agenda. I cancelled my account with them.
