Set in LA rather than the Georgia backwoods, the six-episode inaugural season of FTWD starts off like a family drama, albeit one with close-ups of bloody, half-eaten faces.
Our heroes are a newly blended family headed by divorced English teacher Travis (Cliff Curtis) and widowed guidance counselor Madison (the perpetually stone-faced Kim Dickens).
Meaning the adults will face not just hordes of flesh-chompers, but hormonal teens. Its hard to tell which is worse.
More important, the action takes place during the onset of the zombie apocalypse yep, the one whose aftermath weve spent five seasons exploring on the mothership show. At last, we see what happened when the world went topsy-turvy and Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) was in a coma.
Practically speaking, this means that viewers are always a step or 10 ahead of the FTWD characters to the point that the most common thing youll yell at the screen is: Dont get any closer, you idiot!

I had not planned on having 2 separate ping lists, but if anyone is not interested in both, please let me know.
I watch the Walking Dead faithfully but it didn’t take long for me to get hooked on Z Nation.
It started out as a cheap WD knockoff but went a whole different direction.

Thanks
Z Nation will return on Friday nights — soon.
Fear TWD will be on Sunday nights.
A new Talking Dead will air in the hour before the Fear TWD premiere.
If I want to see real zombies, all I have to do is to look out a window where I work and I can see them, down at the Capital and up at the White House.
Remember, one of Obama’s/Clinton’s economic advisors was Roger GOULSBEE. He’s now a college professor producing more little Zombies.
Ever look really close at Hillary’s face. No sign of intelligent life. In fact, no sign of life, just like Elizabeth Warren, Kathlene Sebelius, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, Nancy Pelosi, and Barbara Boxer.
OMG. I’ve just uncovered a Zombie Coven in Congress and the Cabinet.
Stakes, we’re gonna need more stakes!
If it is, Z-Nation has my loyalty. It is a funny, twisted zombie show in the pattern of Shawn of the Dead and Zombieland.
I am a little tired of the “reality” zombie stuff.
I might record it. Right now my Sunday’s are Last Ship, Falling Skys, and Strain on dvd to be watched after Falling Skys.
My only tv nights are Friday - sci-fi and Sunday.
My wife and I used to love “Forever”. Why they cancelled it is beyond us to understand.
It would be just another zombie show without Murphy the half zombie.

It is funny and catchy. I am glad it survived the first season apocalyptic wave of cuts.
And the crazy nose guy in the arctic.
We’re looking forward to this one...think it’ll be interesting, seeing how it all began, watching the characters slowly realize that hey, they aren’t just sick or crazy, they’re DEAD.
A friend of mine bugged me to watch “The Strain.” I finally gave in, and my husband and I got hooked. We had no idea it was so good.
I love Setrakian-—coolest old man on the planet with that sword-—and Fet.
Why do they walk bent over sideways like that?
Pssst....Cross Atlanta off the list. They bit
it in TWD.
My wife won’t watch it. You are much tougher than her, and that is saying a lot. :-)
I crossed Atlanta off the list a long time ago. I wish I never had to enter that hell hole again.
sigh... I will be there tomorrow.
