Sesame Street will be showing up on HBO first for the next five years.
HBO will be financially backing Sesame Street for the next five seasons. The next season will see the show’s episodes reduced from one hour to a half-hour. The number of episodes in a season will increase from 18 to 35 as part of the deal, reports NBC News.
Sesame Street fans that still look to watch the show on PBS can, but they’ll have to wait nine months after the episodes air on HBO for them to reach the network. Until then, PBS will be airing old episodes that will be cut together in different ways. There also a spin-off of the series that will include the Muppets in the works, NBC News notes.
Twitter (TWTR) reacted to the news that Sesame Street is heading to HBO with several jokes about how the content will change.

Now they will be forced to add gratuitous sex scenes
Well it sure undermines the argument that we need public subsidy of PBS, and the stupid ads of how Mitt Romney et al want to take Big Bird off the air.
The free market has placed a value on Big Bird and there is nothing wring with that.
Respect for LGBT folks will be included in Sesame Street ever so subtly to “test the waters”.

Episode three; Tickle me Elmo, gets “tickled” by the Count.
They’ll all win Emmy Awards.
Episode Six; Big Bird tells the kids that their Mommies, and Daddies are evil, and killing all the polar bears for supporting the GOP candidate for President.
