To some, millennials those urban-dwelling, ride-sharing indefatigable social networkers are engaged, upbeat and open to change. To others, they are narcissistic, lazy and self-centered.
Im in the first camp, but regardless of your opinion, be fretful over their economic well-being and fearful oh so fearful for their prospects. The most educated generation in history is on track to becoming less prosperous, at least financially, than its predecessors.
They are faced with a slow economy, high unemployment, stagnant wages and student loans that constrict their ability both to maintain a reasonable lifestyle and to save for the future.
Longer term, rising federal debt payments and increased spending on Social Security and Medicare will inflict a tremendous financial burden on them, threatening their own prospect of receiving promised retirement benefits.
To a considerable extent, thats the fault of my generation, the baby boomers. We were the children of the Greatest Generation, but we may also be the most irresponsible generation.

Harsh words to a millennial: “Maybe tomorrow you can make it to work on time.”
So in other words since you can’t address my main point that no individual, especially a conservative individual, needs to take responsibility for something that they have spent a lifetime fighting against, you revert to questioning my time-management skills? Weak.
It sounds like he is reading “Plunder and Deceit,” by Mark Levin.
“Surely you jest Diana, they may be the most schooled as far as how much time they have spent in classrooms but they are far, far from being the most educated generation in history.”
I’d wager that you are both saying the same thing, but with slightly differing language. Your disconnect is likely semantics.
Let me sum it up for all of us.
This is likely the most degreed generation, yet the least Knowledgeable.
Very good points. Thanks for the reminder. That cost of living is going to get worse very soon. Just wait until the cost of energy “necessarily skyrockets.”
“This is likely the most degreed generation, yet the least Knowledgeable.”
I know of no argument against that conclusion.
I don’t have an issue with disagreeing with the premise of the article. It has more to do with making the argument against a trend of millions based on your individual experience—thus dismissing the statistically identified traits.
It is clear that you cannot comprehend college level reading. Keep thinking you are special. It will make the day you discover you are not, that much more disappointing.
Not everyone is cut out for the service or can make it through basic training. Asthma, diabetes, poor eyesight or hearing, any number of physical problems can disqualify you. My relative almost did not get in because of severe acne! Besides, with a CIC like Obama and what he is doing to the military, it’s not necessarily where I want my kids. Mortgage interest may be low, but houses in most places are pretty expensive. In a place like San Jose, forget it. Transportable retirement accounts - nice if you make enough to fund at a decent level. Most ordinary people don’t get food stamps. And that car had better last ten years considering it probably cost $30,000! $15 minimum wage is still a pipe dream except in places like Seattle where it literally IS a pipe dream :)
