Cilla Black was on one of the Ed Sullivan shows featuring The Beatles. I did not see the original telecast. I bought the DVD a few years ago. And there was Cilla wearing a bizarre space helmet hairdo that Id seen ONCE in real life, as 6 yr old, and never forgotten. Think about thst; a hairdo so weird that a 6 yr old who has no interest at all in style or hairdressing NEVER forgets it. Nice voice, too.
I think this was from that show... the hairdo is very 60’s...:^)

No that is not it. That one is pretty tame by comparison and probably later. The door in question looked like a cartoon space helmet.

She was promoted in the US along with Dusty Springfield. Dusty caught on but Cilla fizzled out.

I last heard this in the February, 1965, when it was played on KRLA, LA's 50,000-watt Top 40 station at 1110 kilocycles. Although itt got some airplay, it never charted.

Fer instance, private schools in England are what we call public schools here in the Colonies and vice versa. Also, "to table a motion" in American parliamentary procedure means to postpone it for consideration, while in England, it means to introduce it.
