So, I overheard this conversation on the Subway this morning.
One woman asks another, “So, how are things going at the nursing home these days?”
“Mostly good. Yesterday Clark Kent tripped and fell through two apartments. He’s really hard to pick up and then we had to move all three of them until we can make repairs.””
“Why don’t you just put Clark in the basement?”
“We wanted to do that, but he really likes the view from the higher floors. Of course, we had to seriously reinforce the windows to keep him from jumping out of them.”
“He can’t fly anymore?”
“Oh, he can fly, but his aim isn’t as good as it used to be and the neighboring building owners don’t like the repairs. Plus, he’s hard to find if he gets lost. Last time an Emirates Air pilot reported him over the UAE and it took FOREVER to get him back.”
“Oh, dear. And how’s Bruce Wayne?”
“Well, he’s stopped picking fights with Clark, so that’s a relief. I think mostly they were instigated by that Joker character because he made so much money off the betting...”
At that point they got off the Subway and I didn’t hear any more.
Just another day in Gotham/Metropolis. Thought I’d share.
I went to my local Stop and Shop (Or Giant in some states) and as soon as I got in the store, my eyes were assaulted by the pumpkin display.
Yes!
As soon as it’s September, pumpkin goes into so many different things. I got some pumpkin flavored coffee creamer.,
There was also a manager putting up Christmas display. Want Christmas tree ornaments?
It was next to the Halloween things. Speaking of which, or witch, the Pop up Halloween store opened up at the local strip mall.
That’ll work for sure! LOL!
Retread?
Reincarnation of Cecil?
I’m not and never will be on Facebook.
Just another day at the zoo, eh?
I haven’t seen a pumpkin display yet, maybe because Summer has yet to let go of Maryland an so it don’t feel like, “Pumpkin” season quite yet.
I just finished an ebook called, “Man Eaters of Tsavo,” about some lions in the late 19th Century in Africa, who preyed on the railroad construction workers.
It was pretty interesting.
So is that pic!!!
Oddly enough, my homepage logo is “Welcome to Moose Manor.” The rest of the quote was a tagline a few weeks ago. ;o]
I’m mixed too, but only when it comes to ethnic origins. I strongly identify with mongrels.
I have to be on Facebook if I intend to know anything about my kids, siblings and other relatives. It beats the alternative!
That was received loud and clear then. :)
Think we got away with the weather today, all around was raining.
LOL! I’ve had that “tagline” since 1969...I was two...;o])
As for Halloween, I'll pass. Along with the obvious references to evil things which should be confined to our 5th sub-basement, it's just a training ground for future Democrats. We should re-name it and let them dress up like potential voters.
It’s cheaper than retiring.
Seriously, the best way to understand me is to unhinge your mind and then re-read what I posted. That is if I dug the post hole deep enough for the post to remain standing that long. Sometimes they fall over before you can get back to ‘em.
One day I might create a FB account for when I can’t find any former FRiends anywhere else, but otherwise I’ve never quite been able to figure out why I’m supposed to think everyone is so bleepin’ interested in me.
I think they’re just not all that into me, FWIW.
Yes.
Last Iheard Darksheare was roaming a junk yard, er, i mean auto recycling facility, in search of a chunk of VW wiring harness. Argee pops in and out, NnB is somewhere, I'm listening to the radio feed from NS-NYSW-CP out of Binghamton, NY - mostly because no one has a feed on Broadcastify from any rail spot in either my part of NY or north NJ, not sure about others, but wasn't Nully having some thyroid procedure soon?
I thought that's what the zombies were...
