We had 104 in the aptly-named Diablo Valley today, but only about 15% humidity, so call it an even 100.

Now, you take that same 104 where you are, and factor in your local 40% humidity; that’s like 119 [gasp].

Don’t feel bad, though; ritzy Palm Springs only made it to 99, but saw 55% humidity doing it. That feels like 120.

Here.

Have some fun with that. Works for the winter months, too.

Morning/afternoon. Fog would mean it was a little cooler, here, and it’s not.

"The first Fog of the year has arrived this morning."

I get that every morning, but "bleary-eyed" and "foggy" are not quite the same thing.

For two hours? When home is less than ten minutes away, walking? The waiting area isn’t much bigger than my bathroom, so no. Not waiting.

I have both of those charts, but they aren’t as concise and readable as these you linked. So I printed them, The heat index is good, as I’m more curious about that than the wind chill, since it doesn’t get “that” cold here.

Anyway, thanks!

We get fog occasionally. We even had fog in central Utah were I grew up. I don’t remember it in Alaska, but we lived on an island so we probably had it. I was quite small...

"Clean your glasses?"

'Face and I don't need to wear glasses anymore. An affordable miracle of modern medical science called "cataract surgery" has made it possible for me to have, for the first time in my life, a driver's license without the phrase "vision correction needed".

The blurriness on arising is internal. Hence the need for coffee.

And, one of my sisters is going to have cataract surgery, too! YAY! We both wore contact lenses for many years, but I was the first to head for better, easier vision. Of course, I need reading glasses, but I love opening my eyes in the morning and being able to see the clock without fumbling for my glasses!

I’ve been telling people that the reason they do one eye at a time is not merely because there is a slight but possible chance of complication to the surgery, but mainly because with one eye corrected, and one eye left alone, you have a chance to really compare, over days or weeks, the true difference in vision you are getting.

That alone would be worth doing, but you wouldn’t know it without being exposed to it in this manner.

I loved that comparison when I was seeing with one “good” eye. What was hard was trying to read. I got so I just read with the bad eye, and let the good one do what it wanted. Yep. It can be done!

Undead people are the walking dead,

In certain religious circles they are those who are only animated as human beings without receiving the spark of the divine, cf. Ezekiel 37..

I think I’m getting too old for this...

While you've assured me I'm a year or two your junior, I have decided I'm too old to be aging.
