WHY? I mean, have we been reduced to THIS? Is America this far gone? We seemed like we were on top of the world, then WHAM. My goodness, this is tragic and horrific. I can't believe my eyes. It's like a slow motion car wreck. What can we do to stop it? I don't know, I only pray we can come up with an idea. This is the single worst thing to ever happen. Never before in history!... and probably never again.
We will be written about, and scholars will speculate what caused all of this. It's utter damnation on a grand scale, and I bet none of you expected it. I must admit, it's demoralizing, but I know we can do something about it.
If we all pull together, perhaps we can reverse this awful situation. I don't know for sure but I like to hope. I do know the answer: GOD! If we bring God back, we have a chance, otherwise we don't.
Amen, bro.
Sad to see that our sanctuary was half-full at best last night. We will remove seats for this morning's sermon and there will still be more empty seats than occupied ones.
It's time to start filling those seats and reaching out to your friends and neighbors, people.
Remember it's call the Great CO-mission. We play a part.

It’s the same thing that dumped England - too many wars and the dumping of children. In the first half of last century we fought in Europe. In the second half in the Pacific. Now we are into the NE and Africa. Not paying for any of them and now forced to borrow from China. At the same time, we have found ways to prevent and abort children, to dissolve marriages and to substitute government for fathers. Those that have the ‘good life’ see no need to change. Today the drums of war are even louder and the babies voices in the womb go unheard. God be with us.

You are right, of course. However, I see the country so split right now. Blacks vs whites, Christians painted as evil while muslims are good, heterosexuals are bigots while homosexuals are liberated, North vs South, selling baby parts is okay while dying polar bears is sad. Add to the mix the constant flowing in of illegals that are parasites to the economy and add nothing but crime/violence... we are pretty much in bad shape. All done by design IMHO. BUT, I pray.. and pray often for our Country.

What is happening here in this country is Rapture level magnitude.
Obama is not the cause of God’s punishment.
Obama IS God’s punishment.
Now we know why.
Because: 0bama, H! & Congress.
Apathy, lack of righteous living by believers and non-believers, lack of fasting and prayer. Also, we like to have our comforts and leisure time separate from everything else, so we tend to take care of the self life, and let the other go to Hell. A sense of giving up, nothing seems to help...all these are where we are at, especially Christians. When you cannot get 10 people on free republic to join with you any longer in prayer, it is a symptom that the spread of decay is greater than we thought.
We’ve had dozens of judgments from God in localities all over the country, but even though churches respond, there is no repentance, no turning to God for help. We’ve become dependent on government.
I don’t expect revival any longer. What I see is rampant and gross sin. The church is responding wrong, for the most part. Instead of holding the line of Truth, we are getting on board to tolerate it, we are giving credence to it. Speaking the Truth in love is distorted into showing tolerance for the sin instead of pointing the sinner to the Truth in love. Some are, of course, but they are few and far between. Then you have the ones who condemn openly and get in the sinners’ faces as if that was going to help. Where are the weeping prayer vigils where the lost are lifted up before God and prayed for? Where is the fasting and the turning away from our own habitual sin to make our hearts right before God?
This is why nothing is happening and politics will NOT save us. I don’t care who gets elected, because without God, we cannot be saved from the mess we are in. PERIOD!
Ouch!
But perhaps there's a slow counter-trend building. A trend of people who know that their government, their media, and the global tyrannical interests that support it are destroying our country.
Perhaps at some point, we will build a majority of these kinds of people, and we will break on through.
Or maybe not.
