But if Trump doesn't flame out, it won't be for lack of trying. It will be because America is so enraged by what has gone on for the last 8 years and Trump has tapped that anger.
If he does somehow lose those angry Americans, he a goner.
If Trump does flame out, I think Cruz will inherit the angry American vote.
As a Freeper said earlier today (I paraphrase), every time Trump says something that would cost any other candidate his chance, Trump simply goes higher in the polls.

The question is, what will Cruz’ position be in Trump’s cabinet? VP, I hope. Then, Cruz will be set up nicely to become Prez.
That’s where I see Trump....he’s already well familiar with traveling The International Stage and connections throughout....as he said he knows who the people are that deal and how they deal...
Also I don’t think you can put Trump behind a desk in Washington....let alone living in the Whitehouse. Of course you can’t tell...maybe he’s ready to “settle” his feet behind a desk and call the shots...

I think very highly of Cruz, but he has one weak spot; he isn’t financially independent. We must have Trump for the first 8 years. Then 8 years of Cruz will be doable.

There is just one problem with that theory. Trump's not a convert, he is still liberal.
Trump, nothing. Donald Trump does not play subordinate to anyone and would not work well as part of the cabinet. Alan West, Secretary of the Army.
