I like this guy. I really like this guy. He is my homeboy and I love what he says and the way he talks back to the weasels gives me a feeling I want to believe.
But, what has he really done? OK, he's got a cute family and all that, and the libturds haven't found any pix of him smoking a bong on the interwebs, or found out he got busted for something creepy.
That's all beauty but I don't really know all that much about the dude.
I just now noticed your tagline. Popping off maybe 1 with a Barrett is already there, but I need to put an M2 on my damn Bucket List ;)
I agree but that's also what makes me leery of him as the President. Who is he going to work with to get anything done?
I get his message that everyone in DC is screwed up, but the inescapable reality is that DC is where the government functions. If everyone there is against you then you will fail as President.
That's the legacy of the system our founders left us.
That was fun, in my very best Robert Earl Keen twang:
Well, thank y’all!
I’m going in for dinner, She Who Must Be Obeyed has already called out here twice, and I know my limits.
Feel free to bicker among yourselves.
Lights up any body’s day, on both sides.
That message is a very good one to campaign on. It gets me, until it doesn’t any more.
I’m for Ted, until he does something really bad. Ain’t seen it yet.
He’s done plenty.
Start at the link at time 1:12:40 and listen. Ted’s answer to your question will blow you away.

Heh. Follow the link, if you haven’t already done so. ;-)
If you can’t listen to a YouTube video from your browser, let me know.
Great questions. We should always ask these questions of those whom we send to represent us and work for us.
Cruz - he is a right minded constitutionalist. He knows and actually understands the Constitution. He’s smart, well-spoken and is one of the few R’s who can articulate the conservative message. And, from everything we can see so far, he is a deeply committed conservative.
He is a religious man. His father is awesome, and appears to be a man of God also.
He hasn’t let DC go to his head. He speaks truth to power even at a personal cost.
His resume, while being a little short in the elected politician area, is very impressive otherwise.
And, he appears to be fearless.
Ted Cruz won landmark decisions before the Supreme Court representing Veterans, pro bono, and defending religious liberty and the 2nd Amendment.
He was responsible for legislation that awarded Purple Hearts to the victims of Ft. Hood and made sure they got the benefits due them.
He has sponsored other legislation in the Senate that got passed even when Reid was in charge. He is the only one who really fought Obamacare.
He has several key pieces of legislation before the Senate now on Religious Liberty, A bill to reign in the Supreme Court, and an Amendment to return the marriage issue to the states.
He has a vision for the country that includes repealing Obamacare and ridding the business and manufacturing sector of regulations and taxes that are killing jobs and sending them over seas.
Cruz and Trump are very much in agreement on the issues. Together they would be a great team for the country.
I like that .gif. Just saved it and will reuse it.
“Stict Constructionism” is a term used by ignoramuses who mean “Originalism.”
I will be delighted if this is true. But I don’t trust Trump—yet. He’s pulled too many bait-and-switches, like with the Crudely Forged Birth Certificate.
The introduction is enough to keep you POed at the GOP for months
He was the national debate champion in 1992 as an undergrad.
He was the primary editor of the Harvard Law Review in law school.
He clerked for William Rehnquist when he was Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
He was on the staff that represented Bush before the Supreme Court in Bush v. Gore in 2000.
He was a long serving Solicitor General in Texas and has argued 9 times before the U.S. Supreme Court,
He drafted the amicus brief in District of Columbia v. Heller.
Yes, with a resume like that, he would make a fine AG or SCOTUS Justice. But what has he lead? What tough decisions has he made? Has he negotiated deals of significant consequence? Has he worked the room and got people to do what he wants them to do? He is an excellent orator, waxes eloquently in terms of legal jurisprudence; law, administrative genius...is that Presidential material? Will he be able to force Congress to pass legislation they may not want to? Will he be able to stand up to the onslaught from a veto decision and stick to his convictions (think TPP).
TPP stands for Trans-Pacific Partnership. TPP is a specific trade agreement currently being negotiated by the United States and 11 other countries, including Canada, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. China is not a negotiating partner. There is no final language on TPP because negotiations are still ongoing and have been since late 2009. Neither the Senate nor the House has voted yet on the TPP. There will be no vote on TPP until the negotiations are over and the final agreement is sent to Congress.
Believe me, Ted Cruz is the real deal.
Among conservatives he is the top choice.
There are other Freepers here who have a bunch of information about Ted Cruz.
By the way, when Ted Cruz was Texas Solicitor General, he led 700 lawyers and thousands of employees.
