Well, this might seem like a vanity, and probably is.
But I have a special request for the space station.
We need you to film fireworks from space!
Ever see fireworks from an airliner? They don’t look like much.
Those satellites contain large telescopes that are made just for that purpose. The ISS isn't made for that sort of thing. The astronauts have ordinary cameras with telephoto lenses, which still don't do so well from 200 miles.
The rotation of Earth under the ISS orbital track will not allow the next series of such early evening encounters to begin again until late this month.
