Elections have consequences - we were warned
June 26, 2015 | Self

This is exactly why, when conservatives sit on the sideline awaiting the 100% pure candidate, we damage ourselves. Election have consequences and this is one - the ability to select Supreme Court Justices who will sit for life. Look at the ages of Obama's picks - 55 and 61. They are not going anywhere for years.

Abortion, gay marriage, assaults upon Christianity... and we dare to sing God Bless America. Why would he bless us when we spit in his eye.

:-) It’s early yet. And a lot can happen in 17 months (17 long months :wail: )
I’m not against him. The only 2 I will work against are Jeb & Paul.

Please list for us all the matters of importance on which Romney is more liberal than Obama.

I can’t wait to be amazed!

There is only one issue that should be addressed here.

Why is it that so many people, in a weel that say TPP and gay marriage forced on America, id Free Republic’s mission statement being so completely shat upon?

Is this a conservative site or a Republican site? Because there are a damn high number of people lately demanding the same lesser evil bullshit that tanked the last three elections and America as a result.

Colonel, I can’t remember a time (and I am an oldster) when I agreed fully with any candidate. There is no “my way.” I never expect it.

I’m a realist.

And I see dark skies ahead if the scales don’t tip our way this next election. Only a coalition of the disgusted — regardless of what political label they wear — will tip that scale.

And it can’t happen if purists wear their blinders, sit on their fat butts, and stay home on election day. Much better to hold your nose on election day than to tolerate the stink that we’ve allowed our society to become.

Gay Marriage. Barry was against it until recently. Mitt was the first in the nation to legalize it. Also in office.

Argue that for a while then we can move on to the rest.

How about this newbie (or is it retread), how about you list for us the ways that Romney is more conservative than Obama.

After all, it is Romney that paved the way for sodomite "marriage" and it was Romney who devised the socialist plan that would eventually be known as Obamacare.

I can’t wait to be amazed!

Hell yeah! That lightning is gonna be amazing when they zot your ass!

It's getting hard to tell. All I care about from now on is what a politician does, I don't give a damn what the letter after his or her name is.

A “buss” is a kiss. I’ll assume it was a typo.

I intend to vote for whoever prevails and wins the GOP nomination. No candidate is perfect, and the 2016 nominee will most certainly fall short.

Sit home and moan when your candidate doesn’t get the nomination. Stay pure and ideological. Us realists will work twice as hard trying to make up for your dead weight.

Alas, not in before the astroturf/trolling begins.
FReeper Grampa Dave perhaps said it best back in 2008:
If Hiterily gets elected with enough votes in Congress, these will be the good old days.

The purists, who will stay at home because our candidate couldn't walk on water without getting the soles of his Teva's wet will have gifted us with another Clintoon pillaging.

RINO “purists” who keep marching to the left while saying they represent conservatism are the ones who need to go the way of the dinosaurs.

No more.

“Compromise”

They are banning flags, tearing down statues, burning books and movies, renaming parks and schools, full gay marriage, soon to be oppressing Christians...

Where will you compromise with this,

ask them to wait until next year before they start throwing Christians to the lions maybe....

moving left will NEVER get to conservatism

surrendering bit by bit will NEVER bring victory

You can work for whatever RINO you like as hard as you like. There were enough of us to keep a liberal Republican out of power two years ago and more of us intending to do that today. Grow a pair or lose again. your call. All you have to do is vote for a conservative.

The RINO’s are the “purists” now, they refuse to consider any conservative.

They think moving more and more to the left will bring victory for conservatism.

They are blithering fools. Or secret agents for the enemy.

Oh yeah? What consequences did 2010 and 2014 net for us? We were sold out, and you can bet the GOP nominee will be another sellout.
