To: Slings and Arrows

My goodness! You simply cannot use any kind of punishment on a cat or a dog.
You will just make an enemy.

We have four cats, and they are always “good boys” and no matter what they do,
they get praised and NEVER hit or yelled at. Even though there are three girls
and only one boy, they are always, always nothing but good boys.

Bryan and I have a few scratch scars, but the cats didn’t hurt us on purpose,
so they did not get punished for making us bleed. Not their fault.

I never beat my kid or my dog but I gave a cat blanket party when it ripped my face while I was being kind.
I was kind there as well.

Agreed. All you can do is establish dominance, and with cats this is nontrivial problem.
