Agreed. All you can do is establish dominance, and with cats this is nontrivial problem.
Our cats react well to loving kindness. They get food, pets,
and plenty of praise. I always call them good boys, and they
mark my hands with their cheek glands.
At least they’re not licking off a spot to bite. ;-)
And I have finally found a way to get Midnight off my chair.
I tell him to get off. He gets off. He’s a good boy.
They do understand English, you know.
