While I have a handful or more favorites, I am curious who my fellow freepers elevate to the top of their list?
My list starts with;
Annie Lennox
Kate Bush
Tracey Thorn (Everything but the Girl)
And oddly enough
Cindi Lauper
There's soo many more.
Dolly Parton is right up there.

Thank you. Collins does a beautiful job on Suzanne - a song that’s pretty but that I have no clue to its meaning.

But not as good as Bonnie Guitar.
To: quietly desperate

Dionne Warwick, Streisand (nix on her politics), Ronnie Spector, Dusty Springfield, Karen Carpenter ...good voices. Best music from the 60’s. Ever notice how many young people can sing along with our stuff? Timeless.

You may be the only other poster who mentioned Carole King.
Oh, and I can’t forget Kate Pierson and Cindy Wilson of the B-52s.

Whitest thread ever!
On “favorite female vocalists” Janice Joplin’s up at the top,
Ella the purist makes an appearance
Sarah Vaughans and the like nowhere to be found.
Pass the (spray cheddar,) this is one lonely cracker!
