Crystal Pepsi is making a comeback

Cyrstal Pepsi is poised to make a comeback, thanks in part to efforts by competitive eater Kevin Strahle --aka L.A. Beast.

Strahle is part of a group of loyal consumers who have been appealing to Pepsi to bring back the iconic drink, which tasted like Pepsi but was clear.

The caffeine-free drink was originally introduced in 1992 to respond to health concerns about coloring in soda, but only lasted a year. It was considered a failure because it was believed it didn’t taste good.

Eww. Couldn’t stand the stuff. I know it supposedly tasted exactly like regular Pepsi (which I also am not wild about), but it didn’t. At least not to me.

I actually liked that stuff.

Yeah, I’m weird.

I hope if they do bring it back, they use real sugar, not that HFCS.

Good. I was curious when I came out, but never checked it out and then it was gone.

I think I drank it and thought it tasted basically like Pepsi Cola. Maybe not as good but okay. I’m not a big soda drinker, a few a week.

I can’t believe it. I loved Crystal Pepsi. It was so smooth and it was sweet just like Pepsi. It didn’t quite taste like Pepsi. I thought the taste was brighter(?) I drank plenty of it. I was so sad when they decided to stop making it. I kept wishing there was a way I could stockpile it.

Pepsi actually started tinkering with the taste. They tried to give it a citrus flavor later on. I hated that.
