Well, I agree with that - what was the sense in putting the whole family on TV, even if there was nothing to hide? Maybe I just can’t relate to the whole “reality TV” culture. But, now that people have found this dirt on one of them, the story has been taken too far. All the screaming about it certainly doesn’t do anything for the daughters, that’s for sure.

I don't think any who are attempting to understand this can say that there was, within the guidelines of the law, because we don't know ‘the specifics’ of what actually happened...that story changes and is distorted often now.
Most of all it should not be playing out in full view of the audience which is the parents responsibility.....which to me they're lacking in that department.
Why does that matter? Are you saying it is ok to injure these innocent children because Anna made the mistake of marrying a molester and having them? Please explain what the children did to deserve the injuries they are sure to receive from acts that their father committed when he, too, was a child.

He may not need as much help as you are offering.
With that said, I think we should deliberate about the civil rights violations committed against the Duggars and why those violations are tolerable.
If the Duggars have done something worse than thus far reported then of course God will judge them— but that is true of every journalist and every person posting on this board. How does that somehow mitigate the points about how the anti-duggar movement is profoundly misguided?
The Duggers even turned their 14 year-old son into the police after learning about his “youthful curiosity” about girls. What more does anyone expect of them? Of course, what about the person who leaked police information to the media?

They did error in taking their son to the police Imo. That simply wasn’t necessary after they had addressed all the issues...got help ....and had worked through it. It was a family matter they had already worked out as they stated.....
Yet... they do tend to have a highly ‘legalistic’ household all around from what I see.....and very structured...which could be said was more a controlling atmosphere. However with 19 children they elected to have you’d have your hands plenty full even doing a small measure of that.
