Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls....
I need some input on a handgun. I was gifted a Colt Python (.357 magnum) from my father. I'd like to know what this thing is worth.
Hey. If you’re not going to add anything to this conversation, why don’t you go back to some girl thread?!
You don’t see me busting into your makeup threads, do you?!
[Don’t get mad!!!
I like teasing girls! Somehow it’s worked for me. Sometimes.
Well...it worked once. Or, something did.]
Maybe they're OEM Colt grips made by Pachmayr. Wood grips would look nicer, either way.
In certain situations it could be worth your life.
Oh, yeah. It’s loaded.
Everything I own is loaded. And they’re spread all over the house, garage and cars.
It’s kind of a b***h when the young ‘uns come over to visit. I’ve got to go gather everything up and un-danger them.
Which makes me feel a little twitchy until I can get ‘em all loaded back up again.
I guess I’m a little like Marvin (John Malkovich’s character) in RED and RED2.
Colt is one of the few gun companies who fall in line with gun grabbers. I can’t remember secifics.
“Im feeling kind of sick after seeing those prices. I sold a 6 blued Python for $500 (including a Bianchi shoulder holster) in the 80s.”
Back then you could get a 30 year tax free bond at over 10%.
That would be over $8000 now.
I won’t ask what you did with the $500 ... you might feel even bluer!
Word of caution: You may already know but in case you don’t, be very careful in how you clean/preserve this beauty e.g. since it’s nickel avoid anything that has ammonia in it.

I had a Python once, for a short while. I got it for someone else, who could legally own it. They were hard to come by, even then. It just wasn’t convenient for him to get it. It was several decades ago, six inch blued... Beautiful revolver.
Eventually, he came up with the money. I guess I would be labelled a “straw purchaser” these days...
I bet that six inch Smith shoots very well.
Nickel finish adds about a 15% premium.
Please send it me to evaluate it. I can have it back to you in 25 years.
Its worth in the thousands. Pythons are overpriced. If I were you I’d keep for sentimental value. If you’re going to sell and live in a private sale state, I’d put it up in say November.

Look at this one on top of page.
What a beauty
I had someone else tell me that. Thanks!
I’ll watch out.
Holy crap!
Is that even a gun?!
Or is it jewelry?!
Unreal.
If it’s in your nightstand and you need it right away, it’s priceless.
I love this Bar!
These days they’re going in some places for more than 3k; put it in a bank vault and preserve it for the grand kids.
Are they Eddie Eagleized?
I’m just an innocent female...lurking where guys tech talk about their weapons. Very Male...I like it. *wink*
