People who report seeing UFOs are saner and more credible than those who believe in gay marriage.

"Richard B. Russell Jr. served in public office for fifty years as a state legislator, governor of Georgia, and U.S. senator. Although Russell was best known for his efforts to strengthen the national defense and to oppose civil rights legislation, he favored his role as advocate for the small farmer and for soil and water conservation. Russell also worked to bring economic opportunities to Georgia. He helped to secure or maintain fifteen military installations; more than twenty-five research facilities, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Russell Agricultural Research Center; and federal funding for development and construction. Russell believed that his most important legislative contribution was his authorship and secured passage of the National School Lunch Program in 1946."

Two silver paint coated helium filled inflatables released from the ground from behind a nearby hill would look like aliens to someone.
Russians playing mind games IMO.

Senior US senator's report of seeing 'TWO UFOs' was 'covered up'......THREE 'highly reliable' US government officials reported seeing TWO UFOs

Since when is a publicly elected U.S. Senator automatically considered "reliable?" If this report of flying saucer kookery was about Carol Moseley Braun I'd yawn and go back to bed.

Sen. Russell was on a Soviet-era train during a fact-finding mission to Russia, nearly 60 years ago. He is said to have looked out of the window and spotted two disc-shaped UFOs 'taking off' from a spot near the railway tracks.

Just about the time Vladimir Putin was born.

A good 1950s movie to watch on this subject is Unidentified Flying Objects" . It contains two short clips of unknowns that have yet to be explained.

Pretty semi-documentary film in a straightforward "what-the-L-are-they" context. This was in the days when airline pilots could report what they saw without being fired and the military being pretty open about things.

I liked the comment one AF officer said: "Credible people reporting incredible things".
