Great big stink stain on NE.
There's a quick fix to this dastardly violation of NFL rules and that's to allow each team to inflate their footballs to whatever pressure they feel comfortable with.........
Go figure, a mere 2 lbs psi in a football has now side lined the best quarterback in the NFL for the number of games determined by the pussified NFL.........Sheesh!
Didn’t cooperate and what he shared was inconsistent with other facts. In other words, he lied and obstructed.
Lol. Joe Banner tweeted something similar.
This is obviously the most important story of the 21st Century.
I’m guessing that Brady likes the balls inflated to the minimum permissible and the “deflated” was sloppy in this effort. Further, also guessing that the penalty will not survive an appeal.
Interestingly, I don't think this ruling even came from the commissioner directly, but from the league's disciplinary office.
Any labor contact I ever came across has in
It a general clause saying Management agrees not to act in an arbitrary or capricious manner in enacting the Contract.
The fact that 3 of 4 Colt balls tested failed to be in compliance and no action taken but one from the Patriots fails and leads to suspensions is a compelling fact an Arbitrator in will hear.
Godell loses an appeal by Brady.
Ray Rice says Okee Dokee.
I can see a possible reduction, unlikely to me. But not a complete overturn. As someone else said, the NFL CBA allows the commissioner a lot of latitude.
Yup with the 4 games Brady won’t play until October 18th and the game will be with the Colts.
Goodell won the Ray Rice thing. People think the judge scolded him, but they aren’t seeing the long game. Goodell knew that whenever he reinstated Rice it would be “too soon” to some people (some very loud people), so he didn’t bother to reinstate him. Eventually a judge (woman judge no less, Goodell leads a charmed life) reinstated Rice, thus taking it out of Goodell’s hands, and nobody can blame him for the punishment being too light. And meanwhile Rice is not currently signed with any team. Every chip fell the perfect way for Goodell.
I hereby predict that the range of opinion will demand either no penalty and an apology from Patriot fans to Patriot haters wanting a minimum of the “Pete Rose” penalty for both Brady and Belichick (The hard core will want to go further considering even a firing squad as too humane).
Only 4 games? Sean Payton was suspended for a year. I guess if Aaron Rogers did something like that he be suspended for two years.
Goodell had no interest in suspending Ray Rice indefinitely.
Was there any proof that Brady did it or knew about it?
