Actually, you screwed up. The gauge does not read absolute pressure but relative. You have to take in account the atmospheric pressure of 14.7 psi as the leather ball is not a fixed chamber.
So: (12.5+14.7) x 282/295 = 26 then subtract atmospheric to return to gauge 26- 14.7= 11.3 psi.
I was being generous and used 70 F.
Yeah. Science is picky that way. So not so phony an excuse. But keep trying.

Hey...an attempt at math. That’s good.
Unfortunately you apparently live in a literal vacuum.
Add 14.7 PSI to the starting pressure and subtract it when you’re done if you live in an atmosphere.
