Dumb question

I'm trying to post a direct link to 'my profile' to a friend. (we're discussing endangered Texas animals, and I have a large essay on this on my page) How do I post a direct link to my page? When I copy the url at the top, I get Patriot08 and what I've posted, etc.

Make sure you’re logged in.

Generally you do not have to put the target. Just:

< a href+”URL”>Your own label< /a >

Without the extra spaces near the < and >

You just highlight, copy and paste the url for the webpage to the e-mail.

Ignore all this. Jim Rob gave you the answer in reply #2. Copy that and paste it into an email to your friend. Done.

Thank you all very much, but nothing any of you suggested works. I still am directed to 'patiot08 and a bunch of stuff I posted. NO DIRECT LINK TO 'MY PAGE'. (not even Jim Robs worked. THANK YOU JIM ROB!) There must be something wrong with my computer. I get a box that says 'follow the link?' I click 'yes' and nothing happens. I just wanted to show a friend my animals, but I guess its not to be. Thanks again Katy

None of your suggestions work.
Have you actually tried it yourselves?

I did and still get nothing but a general page where Patriot08’s posts are mentioned.
Nothing I do makes my profile (home page, whatever) open up directly.

Copy that but delete the extra space after each < and before each >

Let me try again because you cannot copy an active link correctly for that purpose.

Now also back out the extra spaces before the first / and after the last /. I will check it, too, and see if it works.

Yes my test worked. Just be sure you back out the correct extra spaces. I have to add extra spaces so you can see it.
